Why should there be an 'advantage'? Have you not loved a woman so much that you would do almost anything in your power to make her happy, because that is exactly what she does for you?

I like being married.

and lol @ the alters making these "controversial" threads.

Yes, I have loved someone enough someone like that. But, what is the advantage of signing a marriage contract?

In MOST cases it is an insurance policy for women, because MOST men make more than the women.

BTW. I am glad you are happy.

you're the one who said "Seriously, there is ABSOLUTELY NO ADVANTAGE FOR A MALE TO GET MARRIED!!!e$@@"

So my question to you is, why do you say that? What's the basis for your statement?

Yes, we all should be so lucky.

But, most are not.

We can break out the stats of divorces being over 50%.

The stats that only 20% of women married over 15 yrs have enough passion to have sex with their partner on a regular basis.

it's not perfect. . .that's part of the beauty. . .relationships are work. . .you have to care enough to put the time in. . .it's called a "commitment". . .52% of the people are just too lazy to do the work when the times get tough. . .

plus, the missuz is from west-by god-virginia. . .south of the mason-dixon, they make'em tough down there. . .if anybody gets whacked, it'll probably be me. . .

Well said couldnt agree more,
Relationships tend to bring out the best and worst in us,
It is in relationships that we tend to find out who we really are

I seriously don't know the advantage?

All these guys could have the same relationship with their wives without signing a contract that in MOST cases guarantees the women will get more than she put it.

Yeah, I know, I married a country gal 17 years ago. My point is all of your posts indicate 100% rosiness.

Seriously, I am not bashing women or marriage. I think it is great when marriages work out!

The contract part just scares me.

as well it should loll

Yes.

This may be hard for you to believe. But, I have the tnedency to piss people off and go to far. So, a woman may actually tire of me. It's true!!

"Marriages don't work out" Well, diets don't either. Should we not diet?

The way you're phrasing your statement indicates you won't get married because of the statistics.

Get married because you love the freaking girl so much, it hurts.

Get married because you want children, and want those children to grow up with a mother and father who are married.

I said MOST marriages. Not ALL!!!!

Statistics did play a role in myself not marrying. (yet??) Mainly, that if you wait till 30 the chances are twice as good for a healthy marriage.

I agree the only real reason to marry is to have children. One of the reasons I am hard on marriage is the kids. People should take it more slowly and seriously. There is nothing more important than children being raised by a Father AND a mother.

I read an article a few months ago that said the divorce rate of those married at 25 was almost completely the same as those married at 30. The big dropoff was from 20-25. And the divorce rate is actually around 45% now - but there's no way to say why it dropped some, or that it's indicative of healthier relationships. (shrug)

The stats I read were under 23 compared to over 28.

The divorce rate is slowing down. (temporarily) Women are waiting for their equitity in their house to rise back up when the market returns. They will get more money if they wait. It is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$

 you don't consider a longer lifespan an advantage?

Fact: Married men live longer than single men.

Fact 2: Single women live longer than married women.

But I do agree with you about waiting to marry, people don't have their heads screwed on properly until they're nearly 30.

Bill Maher has a take on the longer lifespan...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z8j4QJ0oiY

yeah

Average life span of married man 72ys.

Average life span of single men 70yrs.

I would give up my 71st and 72nd yrs to bang any girl, do whatever I want, spend my money on me.

Better than child support, vaginamony, 100,000 weddings, step children, being bitched at daily, getting skateboard wheels stolen, etc all to live 2 yrs in my 70s.

I would sacrifice ten years of lifespan to avoid skateboard wheel theft.

My husband is going to be 54 in January. His free test is 1200. People think he's in his 40s and I have more gray hair than he does, in more places. And he's never lifted a weight in his life.

So there, nyaaa nyaaa.

The problem is always the same. You men keep going after brain dead, materialistic eye candy that looks nice to show off to your buddies, like a big house or expensive car. Your wife is not a status symbol, your wife should be, first and foremost, your best friend above all other things. Do you pick your buddies that you hang with because of their looks?

Yes, she needs to have physical appeal, that is the initial attraction. But how many of you meet a woman that you totally, MENTALLY click with, and she isn't EXACTLY your type, or she isn't what you want your friends to see you with, and you choose her friend, the petite one with the perky tits and tiny waist with an I.Q. to rival Forrest Gump.

But STILL men insist on lumping all women into the same category. Shit, if all women did that to men you fuckers would never get laid :FRlol: Let me tell you something, I'm NOT materialistic, I'm not emasculating, and I'm not a frigid bitch. But I also have small, mismatched boobs, I have a large frame and I'm 5'9" Guys didn't go for me and the minute they realized I'm generally taller than they are in heels, they ran away.

The problem with "WOMEN" has nothing to do with the female gender, it has to do with the MALE ego and sense of values. Start looking for a friend you can have great sex with, not something you think LOOKS sexy that you find yourself tolerating the presence of.

Im very happily married,we balance each other out,Im bad with money she is good,Im rational in all situations when she has meltdowns about little shit, couldnt see it any other way

I dont understand your karma message to me where I call you a liar. I'm saying that may be true for your husband, but the "across the board" evidence is that married men suffer a testosterone decline vis a vis their unmarried brothers

Definition, anecdotal evidnece: Anecdotal evidence is an informal account of evidence in the form of an anecdote or hearsay.

Definition, hearsay: rumor, gossip (usually a mixture of truth and untruth) passed around by word of mouth

So that's why I don't appreciate my statement of facting being called anecdotal evidence.

I would appreciate if you would link me to the specific article you're talking about so I can read it for myself before I comment further :qt:

Personally, my Test was great when married. It was after the kids, when I lost it all.

so the moral of the story is.. many people are very happy married, but few people are very happy single?

I didn't have the kids, my wife did. ha!

No sleep adds to it I guess. That and a million other stressors kids bring into your life. Physically, I'm not handling it well. I attribute that to me being an excessive worrier. I don't know.

Somewhat happy being single, without a significant other 12
Very happy being married or dating/engaged, etc. 12

single and loving every min of it .. never married but was in a relationship for 7 years..felt like i was in a bear trap!!
