Marion had a tough time in 2003 when the news of THG came out. She didn't test positive obviously for THG, but she was implicated in the scandel. She came back competing in 2006, and was like old. But then a positive came back from the U.S. trials for EPO. She denied it, and the B-sample came back negative. Though she was free to compete this year, she didn't, and obviously she isn't shooting for neat year's olympics, and has had enough.
I can't imagine she has much to lose by coming clean now. People know she was taking drugs for years, and I imagine she wants to make a break from all the shit and get on with life. Add to that that Trevor Graham was her coach, but when she left he handed a vial to the authorities means that she might well get a small kick out of landing him in it even further.
But aside from all that, it pisses me off to hear other athletes slashing the whip like butter wouldn't melt in their mouth. In fact, it makes me sick, especially when you know they're on stuff. The hypocracy! And then you get pious officials saying how immoral it is to take drugs. Eh, why? They ban EPO, for instance, but don't ban oxygen tents, which have the same effect, because then you'd have to ban people from training at altitude, unless they were born there. So arbitrary, and such bullshit.
