Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below Marge passed away yesterday after being in intensive care at the hospital for the last 3 weeks & now the city's in mourning. Even the ballplayer's that she pissed off when she was running things years ago are talking nice about her..(Eric Davis & Dave Parker) She donated quite a bit of money to many different causes in this city over the years but unfortunately her mouth always seemed to keep her in hot water. She smoked like a freight train too. I'm sure that had something to do with her illness. She was 75.

ha, one a radio show I listen to they play clips of her. talking about how hitler built great roads and shit. but I never heard any clips of her say the holocaust was a good thing or anything about it.
She reportedly had a swaztika armband in her dresser drawer at home saying that it was just some WWII memorabilia. Some people made a big deal of that for awhile but eventually it died down. Did that necessarily make her a nazi? Hell, who knows. I just think that she was raised in an era where it was normal behavior to hear white folks say the type of things that she was known to say at times. Unfortunately that stuff was common back then. However, times change & you have to be able to change along with them. Her insensitivity & unwillingness to change with the times ended up being her downfall. Hell, she said that her players weren't allowed to wear earrings becaues only fruits wore earrings. That would sure go over big nowadays wouldn't it? But that's what I mean. I honestly don't think that she quite understood that what she was saying at times was wrong. Kinda like a female Archie Bunker. Does that make any sense?
