Marcus Ruhl - Torn Quad!

Just heard Marcus Ruhl has torn his quad. He was supposed to be guest posing at the SFBB in Edinborough, Scotland this Sunday but has pulled out to be replaced by JD Dawodu. Not sure how this is going to effect his Olympia performance or if he will even be in it. I will be gutted if he is out as I was looking forward to seeing him on stage at the O.

Doin fine thanks mate. Recovered from my elbow surgery now after 5 operations and back in training, although only at about 90% as the damn elbow is still healing. I'm happy as I've managed to get most of my weight back on regardless and am only 6lb under what I was before I went in hospital (I dropped over 20lb!) Competition was put on hold for this year but I'll be entering an EFBB British qualifier early next year.

Apparently he actually tore a tendon in his right knee. From what I hear he took 12 weeks off of training legs and lost around 10 or 11 pounds of muscle but he still hopes to compete at this years 'O'.

Actually Coleman retired from the Police last year. Also, watching him train, he is one of the strongest and hardest training bodybuilders there is. Check out road to Olympia deadlifting 8 plates a side! He may not be a great ambassador for the sport but he deserves to be Mr. Olympia as he is way ahead of most.

I would have to agree , I respect the fact that Marcus and Ronnie have taken human development to a new level but at the same time they are taking BBing down a road that I think is wrong. The direction they are trying to take to sport to is to massive at all costs and no matter how you do it ( ridiculous amount of site injections at the expense of propoortion and definition , distended abdominals as a result of GH abuse and as a result a huge ugly waist ).

Just looking the state that Jean-Pierre Fux , Markus Ruhl and Greg Kovacs are in with their injuries and degradation of their physiques shows that their choices as atheletes are taking them to self destruction.

If we want to have any hope of having body building publicly accepted and our great sport to be in the Olympics we have to get rid of these insults to the sport have get the judges to place more credit towards asthetics and at least a somewhat healtly look.

Wow, I have lots of comments here.

First, Marcus is definately huge, but I really don't think his body is pleasing to the eye at all. His proportions are all off, he is so massive that you can hardley tell where one muscles starts and another ends. He is one lump of muscles. Not a pretty physique.

Second, Ronnie is not perfect either. I don't understand how bitch tits get overlooked. For a while he had the worst bitchtits in bodybuilding. He should have worn a bra when he won his second O. As much as I don't think he is the absolute best, I can still appreciate the riduculous amount of hard work and phenomanl genetics it takes to be him. Who would I have chosen over Ronnie? Flex. I think proportion should mean more in the Olympia. The judges appear to have no benchmark for their grading system.

What's wrong with him being a cop? You think that because he is a cop that he should be an angel? You don't know if he's ever busted someone for roids. I don't think he claims to be natural either. Regardless of wether he is working full-time now or he just retired or part-time or whatever. He still represents the police department he busted his ass for his entire career. Let's say he did work part time, how many complaints would the department get if he publically admitted he uses illegal substances? It's not that the department doesn't KNOW it happens, its just that if he openly admits it, they would be FORCED to do something about it.
So you are telling me he should chance his job and reputation? Give me a break, if you were in his position you would do the EXACT same thing, or else you don't care about your career/reputation. Some juice some dont just like any other guy in the gym. And it's not hypocracy to not admit AS use, this is known as discretion. There always are people you admit AS use to and some you dont. LIke most things done discretely , such as getting high, jacking off, cheating on the wife, etc. you kinda keep your mouth shut about it. anyway sorry about the rant. Oh by the way pikey Flex got dusted by Ronnie in the last 3 O's. You cant win the Olympia with just the best shape . Yeah Ape, I agree, I believe it was Ronnie's second O win that Flex looked to be in better shape. There was an article where Flex was talking about all the areas he was scored on and how there was no way Ronnie could have beaten him that year. I wish I remembered where it was, but it totally made sense.

I don't think Flex should win solely on body shape, although his muscle structure is without flaw. But what about posing routine? Flex wipes up the floor with Ronnie here. And I still don't think that Ronnie is symmetrical. He has WAY deep muscle cuts, but he looks like popeye the sailor man. His abdominals are retarded, although I know thats genetics, his gut is way more distended, and I still can't get over his breast that was gleaming so many muscle magazine pictures.

I hope Cormier gets the win this year. Although politics won't let a reigning Olympia lose these days until he retires.
