ya ever see that show on discovery?
they drop this guy in the middle of nowhere and he makes it out of the wild on his own. right now, he's in the desert in utah, looking for shade and water.
He found a canyon with some water in it, but it was impure and he had to swim through it to get to the other side without drinking any of it, then climb a deep crevace to get back up the surface.

once there, the sun was so strong that his tshirt, which he had cut open to wear like a turbin (he had another shirt to wear too), was burning up. he peed on it, to cool it down. He gives tips the whole time, on how to survive in the wild, and find your way home, etc.

what I'm curious about, is the cameraman. does HE have water and sunscreen and food and a cell phone? cause he's right there with the guy, but holding a friggin' camera the whole time.

He's the one who's staying at the Holiday Inn.

well, they really are in the middle of nowhere, but the poor cameraman has to follow him around, while lugging the camera and the lenses and all that crap. PLUS, i assume he gets a tent and water and food.

right now, the main guy is desperate to fill his canteen (his words). i know what I would do if i were him.

i'd get it from the cameraman.

I liked it when he caught a salmon in Alaska, picked it up, and took a bite out of it.

The character in that show was in the SAS and climbed Mt. Everest. So his cameraman is either superman (doing the same stuff with tons of equiptment) or just has tons of bottled water and medicines on him.

Umm... it's television. It's fake. He's an actor. That's why there's a cameraman following him around.

:cow:

yep... probably got a whole fuckin crew followin him. not just the camera man.

check out survivorman if you can find it on. its much better.

I like the show, the water (ocean) one was really good..

some of the things he does is staged for effect, but he does give good advice

Is it really necessary to make fun of me? :bawling:

I was gonna get a TV card this weekend, but I'm staying in town due to some alleged horrible blizzard we're supposed to get.

Yep... I love that show.

....there is Imo - a better one called Survivorman.......he carries his own equipment....no one else is there....sets up his own camera shots etc..he ALWAYS starts his own fires - ie - no flint rock etc....

I watched some of that show last nite......I can't see "regular people" being stranded doing some of the stuff he does - like climbing up the coconut tree or climbing down the banyan roots......

Yeah survivorman is really a survivor....man.

all that climbing he does is a bad idea in real life. you fall and break something or even a bad sprain out in the middle of nowhere.. and your really fucked.

Thats why I like watching Les(survivorman) as there is no one else around when he is out ...hes a regular guy.

The man v wild dude is a bad ass...former Ranger and officer is Her Majesty's Service.....he's climbed to Everest peak etc.....BUT he has had YEARS of training and the things he does wouldnt be doable by most of us average folks.

Les is just a real dude

I saw a special on this and he has a support group that follows him however they are not suppose to interfere unless its life threatening. Who knows he probably does do the real deal because the network could not afford to have a scandal.
