Mallet finger and lifting

5 weeks ago, I ( get ready to laugh ) was pulling up my jeans, when all put one finger slipped, and I hear a pop. I could no longer straighten the last digit of my finger, as I had somehow ruptured the tendon. This is a condition known as mallet finger. I didn't have it diagnosed until almost 2 weeks later. I didn't think it was any major injury and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. It's now in a splint and has to stay that way for 8 weeks. I't;s been 3. I'm still trying to lift with it. Even though it's hard to do without tensing that finger. Any advice on mallet finger and recovery?

The HMO doc wasn't exactly helpful in his 30 second exam. I've been searching online but can't find out much as far as acceptable level of activity and recovery other then the same "keep it in a split for 8 weeks".

Also I did meddle with some clen, and was experiencing some really nasty cramps, even while drinking tons of V8. I'm wondering if clen and cramps had anything to do with the rupture. i'm scared to touch the stuff now. I figure if cramps caused a tear, I got off lucky with just mallet finger and not tearing something more serious.

Thanks

with mallet finger the extensor tendon detaches from the bone, so make sure you let it heal or youll never be able to strighten it again. Id give it time to heal bro, you dont want to develop chronic problems down the road.
