Does anyone know how to hide folders or password protect them. My stepchildren are nosy little shits sometimes and I have a photo folder I don't want them to see. (No it isn't risque). What is the best way to make sure I can find it easily, its hidden from the kids, and it remains on my computer.

I labelled my stuf with inocuous names, then hid them. So, "church files" or Work stuff-machine pics-Citizen lathe-live tooling- Porn video's.

but computer puts thumbnails on front of folder. I think I'll put a pic of the central air unit and put it on the front. Too boring for them to touch...lol.

When you go into the folder properties, you can select the pic you want on front, or none at all. And if you put your pics 1 or more folders deep, the pics won't display on the front.

there is a box that you can click on that says make these folders private, but my are shaded and i can't click them

I havent done that in years but I remember that under WIn98, you could make a file invisible to others. You had to rename it by putting a certain caracter and then the only way you'd be able to find it was through the search function by putting the exact name.
