making a flyerat school for an apartment

I'm thinking of posting a flyer with my number on it requesting someone to either look for an apartment together or if someone has an extra room.

I don't think I would particulary mind just meeting someone I don't know and looking for an apartment together.

I would compare it to getting stuck with someone in a dorm room. Most don't choose their roomate in a dorm when enterning a new school so this should be a problem.

My school is in Queens, NY which is just outside Manhattan so rent for a single apartment would cost be big bucks.

If I post that I'm looking for a room hopefully I find a group of people that have an entire house for rent and are looking for another roomate.

I get to choose if I wanna room with someone or not. It's not like just cause I advertise I have to room with anyone who responds.

I put out the idea to a buddy of mine that we should get a place but he didn't go for the idea.
