maintaining muscle while dieting

I recently gained about 30 lbs. of new muscle along with some water and fat for a total of around 50 lbs. I kinda want to keep bulking throughout the fall and winter but I'm afraid I'll get too bloated once spring comes along. What would be the best way to lose this fat that I just gained without losing muscle or strength? Would it be possible to eat a below maintenence calorie diet and still gain or at least maintain my size by taking medium to high amounts of anabolics? The last time I dieted wrong (drug free and too few calories) and ended up losing a lot muscle in the process. I don't want to make the same mistake twice. Thanks for any help.

proper post cycle therapy is teh key...

once your test levels are back to somewhat of a 'normal' range, you can start focusing on fat loss.

i most definitely wouldnt even contemplate shortening my body calories the first 2 months after finishing a cycle.

kapish??

thats why anabolics are great

just cut back on heavy traning take something like winnie and primo

and get cut bvy cutting carbs, and increasing cardio

From my experience

Caloric deficit without weights = overall weight loss. Youll maintain your present bf% but weigh less

Caloric deficit with weights = Bf% loss, and complete preservation of muscle. (skip a day and youll notice it though, i promise)

I maintained the muscle i have just with weights, didnt use any anabolics.
Although i havent cycled yet, so i dont know how that would pan out, probably better on of course. But you dont need to to cut my .02

Just a thought. What if I were to keep using the same bulking stack and heavy weights and just lower my calories to below maintenence? Would I be able to keep more muscle this way rather than switching to "cutting" cycle?

it would help us to know what you were on to gain 50lbs-jesus that's a lot of weight!...if you are holding 20lbs water and fat you must have been on a see-food diet! Instead, eat same # of calories, but make them clean protein calories-you won't lose muscle and your body won't store the protein...stay away from any aas that will keep water on you (primo might be good here)and do your cardio...then 10 weeks or so from spring, rock a prop/winny combo...if you can keep those 30 of muscle, plus a couple more over winter, plus a couple more the last 10 weeks out, you should look like shredded beef while chasing all of those drunk, underage spring break chicks around the pool come spring break

now that's solid advice.

When I finish a cycle (after proper pct) I generally try to get as lean as possible. I limit my eating to six times a day ( in order to maximize fat burning between meals ). I also start up the cardio at least 4 times a week. If you were eating clean while bulking ( just lots of good food ) it should not be to hard to tighten up. I also like to take amino acid supps and beef/liver supps too. I generally only lose a few lbs all together but drop my bf at a good clip.

Bump for an answer to this.

Yes, I would say you could use the same cycle that you used to bulk with for cutting, BUT you didn't say what the cycle was.

Which AAS you take has less to do with cutting than the diet and cardio. If you used Test/Deca for your bulking stack you could also use it for losing fat while preserving muscle, but I dont see the need in the average joe taking alot of AAS to cut (then again we all have different meanings of "a lot"). I personally, use 1 AAS like my next will be 500mg/wk Test (w/ L-dex) along side T3, Clen, ECA, and Yohimbine HCL. All the AAS is doing is helping to preserve muscle, because I won't be taking in enough calories to build any new muscle. So, there isn't much point in getting crazy with the cycle, but I will be using Test E this time instead of Prop. You could also use something like winny or var at the end of the cycle if you are lean enough to harden and/or suck that last bit of water out.
