Mail ordering...HELP

I am looking for a little advise when it comes to ordering through the mail. I have a guy that is supposed to be a reputable source but he wants me to send the money via Fedex which means I cannot pay cash to send, must be check or c/c. This means I must use my real name which sounds like a bad idea, but this is a first for me. He states he is also sending via Fedex. Any comments would be great.
