Domestic mail overnight or pirority is unlikely to be searched unless it contains narcotics that a dog has alerted to, you are on a list or your source is on a list, and the feds are watching you.
"probable cause" sufficient to obtain a search warrant is required for domestic mail. Can't be opened randomly. You waive that protection with private carriers like Fed Ex....read the fine print.
basically i am asking has there been a higher rate of confiscated packages or having "them" come to my door trying to do a controlled delivery more than before what is the safest way to receive domestic goods?
I dont know quite what your asking but as for domestic the only busts I have seen are in cases where people are using different names and the package is ending up in the wrong mailbox and somebody else opens it and calls the law. Or people using p.o. boxes under fake names and businesses. Dont get me wrong shit does happen but if you play it smart you will be alright if you follow the rules. Good luck bro.
