Lunges

I have a bad back due to a car acident injury and I feel too much pressure on my lower back doing squats. I started doing lundges and I think they are by far much better than squats. I do half the weight I used on squats but after doing the different variations of them I feel it in more muscles than I would if I did squats on my smith machine.
 
LOL, thats funny, no way can a lunge replace a squat as far as overall total leg development, size and strength, not even close, not even comparable. Sorry to hear your back is jacked up but how about doing some light squats, maybe sets of 20 with a weight you would be able to complete. peace
 
I'm not LOL but I do agree that Lunges are a supplement to Squats and Deads....

I use medium weight Lunges to finish up Leg day as frosting on the cake of my leg day pain...
 
I love Lunges..

But I find they put some stress on my back.
More so than squats.



Go light.

Maybe you need to give your back a rest..
