Lower body training..

My workout partner is notorious for not working out his legs. And yet, he wants to gain some weight. I just need some simple facts that I can show him, that will prove to him how much strength and weight you can add while having a vigorous lower body workout. He's 6'3 205 lbs, and his legs are pretty much along the lines of Big Birds. His upper body is in great shape, but how much weight do you think he could gain in 3 months or so, just by starting a nice lower body workout? He gets around 260 grams of protein a day, and around 3500 calories. Thanks for yalls input.
 
Yeah, I want to show him the website, but I just wanted to get some nice input that he can see for himself. If he adds the 40 g of protein, and 500 cals, what do yall think he could gain naturally, by say, New Years? I was saying maybe around 15 lbs or so.. just in that short amount of time... what do yall think?
 
In nine weeks with 2 lower body sessions a week and around 4000 total kcal he should be able, having not trained legs before to increase his lower body strength signifigantly. His upper body strength will increase as well due to core strength increases and spillover from compound exercises. There is no exact estimate I can give but he would probably grow more in that 9 week period with a good compound lift based program, than he would all year with the captain upper body routine.

Exactly! Ive been preaching to him for a long time about the progress he could make with the lower body routine. Hes pretty much wasting his time in the gym, with no leg workout. Well, not completely, but it hinders his gains tremendously. Keep the replies coming guys, thanks!
 
well, u keep doing lower body workouts, and when he sees youre getting bigger then him and progressing faster, maybe hell start.
