Lower Abs Seen Easy

Hey fellas. I have a question.

Where in the world can I buy those padded straps that clip onto a bar and strap around upper arms near the elbow to assist in performing the hanging leg raises for lower abs development?

I must have gone to every damn fitness suppliers in my town and no one has em. Some don't even know what the fuck they are which pisses me off. You would think the assholes should know what I'm talking about given that they work in such places.

I can't even find them on the internet...

Anyone?? Anyone?? Please help.. I'm steaming here!!!

I did some tonight..I just held onto the chin bar and lifted my legs up till they were straight in the air...2 sets of 5 reps.

you do realise you can not spot reduce fat, and inducing hypertrophy in one part of the abs more than the other is almost impossible right?
 
Hey man.... Who said anything about spot reducing fat. I have no trouble with fat. All I wanted to know is where I can get this specific strap in order to eliminate using a bar grip that gives out on me before I get my lower abs tagged !! That's all..

TheOak, it will build an incredible core of strength...might make him pretty too, but who cares? He's building core strength in its intended plane of use . . . makes for a kick ass squat. :)
 
I love hanging leg raise, twisting as well. This is IMHO the Best ab excercise. I jumped into these prematurely with ankle weghts on and Strained my Abs, couldnt do a cruch for a week, it was alot of pain.

I understand that, but 2x5.... its not a mass building movement...
I do 4x12-15, my abs are tight.. I do them once a week..

But I do 3x15 before leg and back training...

I dunno, 2x5 for abs doesnt sound effective to me, thats all
 
2x5 is not a mass building movement according to whom? Those that subscribe to TUT theories? Sorry, I don't. B does these as part of a well rounded program of both high and low volume work, which by the nature of variety, targets more muscle fibers (I and II), and therefore will lead to more growth than a single-sided program.

Funny how all the old school BBers used low rep ranges (5 at times) and grew just fine. :)
 
Spatts I think you miss what he said. He didnt mean the rep range wasn't mass building (2x5) he meant the exercise itself wasnt very liken to build mass.

Seriously....B is training his abs in the plane he's going to need them strong in. Go tell all the Westside powerlifters that they should stop doing the straight-leg raises that strengthen their core and build their squat so much.

I understand what your saying :D I always wondered why after I started incorporating squats, I started having to strap plates to my feet while doing leglifts. I just wanted you to see what he was saying, whether he was right or not, I now see he wasnt since it makes so much since to me about what your saying. I never though to lifts that were to target different areas could be so intertwined in one strengthening the other.

Training the abs and hip flexors together can really improve your squat/dl.

Where b is concerned, proof's in the puddin'. Assuming he left any in the bowl.
 
Spatts...you are just too funny...and I am blushing (like I'd leave any puddin' in the bowl...lol).

5 reps is about all that I can do. I am weighing 287-292 right now and it isn't easy to raise my legs that high (to my hands) and lower them back down again in a controlled manner. I don't swing them...I can actually bring them up slowly if I wish and down just like it again.

I train some sets heavy (3-6 reps) and others 6-20 reps. I simply can't go much more than 5's on the hanging leg raises.

Seriously though...my stomach is stronger, harder, and with more visible abs than EVER and I am at my heaviest 'in shape' bodyweight I have ever had.
