low carb bagels etc - a scam?

nutritionally interesting
maybe not very tasty
certainly expensive

I've bought stuff from Synergy Diet before. I haven't indulged in any of their bakery products, except for the low-carb tortillas. I can get those locally now, so I haven't ordered from Synergy for a long time. Their candies are fabulous, but I can get those locally now, too.

Almond and soy flours are VERY low in carbohydrate, and the wheat is probably just added for texture.

If you can afford to experiment, go for it. Can't say how good they'll taste. I've been converting regular recipe's for baked goods into low carb versions for a couple of years now, and the low carb versions are NEVER quite the same as the regular version. Baked goods just don't translate very well. However, if low-carbing has left you feeling "empty", they're worth trying. I've done some that I couldn't touch, but the kids ate 'em all up. And others that I love that the kids & S.O. won't touch.

It's a risk, but if you can afford it - go for it. The counts are probably reliable. Synergy Diet has a good reputation in the low-carb world, and I'm pretty sure they want to keep it.
