low carb ain't so hard

when I eat whatever I want, I tend to get 150-300g of carbs in a day.

once I get under 100 I start to notice that I feel dumber - but in the past I have not added fat in to replace that.

looking at my fitday, the only carbs are coming from the morning protein bars, milk, fruit, and broccoli - and little bits fro the designer whey.
I cut out the protein bars as of today. I will cut out the milk next week.

that should get me under 50 - if not, I'll drop the fruit.

I'm just taking it slow - in the past I just dove in and didn't like it.
dropping 100g each week makes it much easier.

WTF?!

I thought you were a couch potato. Good for you HS if you're on the road to less bodyfat. Cutting is a bitch. Hell, I'm bulking right now and I'm getting sick of eating!:FRlol:

yeah - I sure as hell felt dumb when I did it.

I had an early batch of crystal and nobody told me that it worked totally differently than the regular stuff.
dumbass me should have looked into it more first, but instead took 3 (200mg) caps in an hour.

that was a scary weekend.

Yea that does suck, but I really didn't experience too much side effects on dl's underdossed shit. I went as high as 750mg, or at least what he claims it was ...

I'm 6'3" and at about 200lbs or so.

I was just sort of eating whatever I wanted and noticed that since I'm not on stuff anymore, I was losing my abs that I've always had.
shutting down your natural test does some mean things to your abs I guess :)

so I got onto fitday.com and started tracking what I was eating and saw that I was around 2000 something and barely getting 200g of protein *after* I started trying tp push that again.
so I pretty much could tell right there why I had lost a lot of weight :)
added some belly fat due to lower test levels.

I changed my diet to add way more fat (good fats only - CLA, fish oils, and udo's choice - trying to get 100g or more a day), and upped my protein to swing between 200 and 300g.
trying to drop my carbs down to zero (or at least in the double digits with only fruit and broccoli being the source of them).

I'm only in like the 3rd week of doing this... maybe 2nd - I'm pretty laid back about it.

already seeing a lot of results in mass and strength. :)

I suppose that is one nice thing about never being that big in the first place :)

(I ran xc and track in high school and college, and was always very low bodyfat, so for me to be at about 12% - where I am now - that is major porko level for me. once I drop down to totally cut abs, then I'll probably ease the carbs back in to see what level works for me - like I said, so far I'm not really having any probs with it at all)

I avoid soy at all costs.

I don't like the studies that show the human body confusing the soy protein with estrogen.
I have had a few girlfriends start to use soy and see enough results that backed that up, and the studies that are out...

it is enough that I personally am going to avoid it.

if something says it has soy protein in it, I just throw it out or give it to my girlfriend.

You could try almond milk.

its in the Atkins recipe book.

Tastes surprisingly good. Very low carb, some fat and some protein.

My sister can't get enough of it.

Most days I would say I eat ~70 g of carbs or less. The first few days can be tough if I've been slacking with my diet for a while, but after that I feel kinda hung-over after I have high carb intakes. I've noticed significant differences with water-retention post carb-up with ala.
