low carb ain't so hard

are you leaner or fatter than this?

where do you hope to get with this diet?

if you meant me, then I'd say fatter than that now.
that was like 8 months ago and I was coming off of fina with high cortisol levels as a result (meaning lots of fat burning... but lots of muscle burning too).
now you can see why I stopped gear - I wasn't doing a good enough job of putting on size - I can do that naturally (but it sure as hell makes it easier to keep fat off).

in that pic you can see my lower abs still have fat - or at least look like they have it.
I have a bulge there from a hernia of the belly button (not sure what the technical term is).
the doc said it wasn't worth it to operate, but until I do, my gut sticks out there a little and if you reach in above the belly button, you can feel a hole in my gut.
it is gross - it would be cool to get so cut you could see it :)
I used to do pgf2a shots right there, wonder if that did something?
don't know.

anyway - in terms of where I am now - I am a little fatter than that.
not sure what percent bf that is there - I never really trust the caliper methods and my tanita scale is worthless.
so say that pic is 10% bf, I'm at like 12-15% now then.

with this diet I'm still putting on mass, yet seem to be losing fat (part of it is that I'm getting back into lifting and eating right again after too much time off - 3-6 months probably of me being retarded).

as for my goals - I'm not really sure. I tend to overdo things all too often - so if I set a concrete goal for myself, I will reach it - I will do all that I can to get there fast and do it really well.
but that sort of thing is too stressful and I don't need the stress.

so I'm kind of just playing around with the diet and will do it for as long as I can, tapering down and then coming up again to see how it feels.

it would be nice to get down to the bodyfat levels I had when I ran competetively, but from what the doctors told me back then, it was too low and causing health issues.
so I'll settle for a little pudge these days :)

(plus, my gf said she didn't like the totally sliced abs look, but my gay friends tell me that they think it looks hot... and I'm pretty sure I know which ones I'd rather impress ;) )

In terms of that pic, my biceps are a little bigger now, my tris a little smaller, my shoulders are larger in the front, smaller in the back.
my forearms are smaller, my legs are smaller, my chest is bigger (some fat though), my lats are bigger, my lower back is less cut, my upper back is slightly smaller, and overall I'm much weaker - although about the same in the bis.

I know you care :)

those pictures are funny - I could probably put up better pictures now of me today, and I'm in worse shape - but the lighting in my new place is better than in the apartment where those were taken.

According to Lyle and Dan Duchaine, it takes 3 weeks for the body to adapt its metabolsim from glucose based to ketone based.

Personally, I can't even do basic math while on low carb.
Can't focus worth a damn. Even after 6 weeks. Isocaloric
is better.

Could you explain Isocaloric for me??

Iso-caloric = Iso-linear or equal parts

Equal parts of protein/fat/carbs

So, 33% protein/ 33% fat/ 33% Fat
