definatly looks great still - would like to see how coleman shapes up in his mid 50's...
come on, you know damn well coleman won't make it to his 50's :)

I just found a book he wrote back in 1982. He gives a brief history of his life and he talks freely about his hearing problems and how they affected his life and his training. The last half of the book goes into training techniques and even though some of it is out of date, it's still a great guide.

He does have a section about steroids where he claims he's totally against them and he's never used them. But some of the crazy weight gains he made lend one to believe he actually used at least something.

Overall an inspirational book and has really refocused my own training.

Yes he still looks great but he blames a lot on his freaking Dad.
IF his Dad was so bad, hey heres and idea, move out of the fuking house, your in your freaking twenties and your Dad treats you like shit

His dad was a major jackass, you can see that in Pumping Iron.
Of course he lied about AAS use like so many others. AAS labs cannot sponsor.
He is still a role model in BBuilding, at least for me.

he also trains like a loud mouth, always moaning and groaning throughout sets, if your lucky he'll only yell every 3 minutes :D

what did his father do to him exactly? my friend told me he was molested but i dont buy that. what ,did he beat him or something?

Uhhh, Lou DID move out. His dad used to BEAT him, and mentally abuse him, until Lou got to big to beat up, and then the dad would pull his gun on Lou, and kick him out. After Pumping Iron, he begged Weider for a contract, and moved to california. For a while he had so little money, that for a few weeks he LIVED on the beach, thats how desperate he was to get away from his dad.

His father was a dick, and really messed with his sons confidence, theres nothing positive about that.

what an asshole! i do the best impression of him in pumping iron, it always makes my friends crack up "then lou, you look at your arms, like youre admirin' right!?" what a deck...

I know, some of what the dad says is sick. I laugh at the admiring your arms part, especially when he says "boom, take a look at this hunk of man" and "Flash bulbs are gonna be going off " "thats my son up there, give him just a few more handshakes"?! wtf, I never got the last one LOL

He writes about it in the book Deltcord recommends. But if you want to hear more recent comments by Lou about his father, rent Trial of the Incredible Hulk/Return of the Incredible Hulk 2 disc set, blockbuster has it. In the special features of Return of the Incredible Hulk, there is a brand new interview with Lou, and he talks a lot about how his dad would mentally abuse him, and other horrible things. Then on the Trial of the Incredible Hulk special features, theres Stand Tall which is basically a Pumping Iron 2. It's all about Lou's comeback in the early 90s'. He talks all about how he was so desperate to get away from his dad, that he begged Joe for a contract, and had to sleep on the beach for a few weeks. If they don't have it at blockbuster, they sell it at walmart, the 2disc set for $14.99. It's worth the price alone to have stand tall on DVD, at other places, stand tall by itself sells for $30.00 on dvd!

Never would have guessed though, his dad seemed very nice in pumping iron.
