losing fat, but not around the gut!

I've been on a very modest cutting diet for a couple months, trying to shed fat slowly while not losing too much muscle or losing strenght....
I have drop like 5lbs and look leaner because I can see my ribs, hell even look sort of skinny in upper body...but the gut hasnt shrunk a bit! this is pissing me off....wtf? I would have expect at least a bit, not nothing

i believe it all comes down to the breakdown of your diet???? how many times u eat, when u eat, wat u eat etc...

I've went from 255 since Feb and now I'm down to 194, and I still have my gut. It is going to probably be the hardest area to get rid of because that is, from what I understand, men store a lot of their fat. I've finally switched my routine to destroy my guy. I do 3 HIIT cardio sessions a week, on an empty stomach.

From people I've talked to at work that have lost weight, the gut is the last place to go and most never got rid of it, they didn't want to put the extra effort into it and seems to be the morale killer for people that diet and makes some stop because they think it is useless.

Genetics are involved too. You probably have a large amount of fat cells around your stomach area. This can make it a bit harder to get rid of, but still certainly possible.

For me, my stomach was the last to go. I was extremely lean in my legs, arms, and face, but I still couldn't see my abs. just keep going at it and you will get it..good luck man

U will lose weight last in the area you put weight on first. Another thing you may want to look into is having your cortisol levels looked at. Excess cortisol will cause a person to hold weight and gain weight in the stomach.

Yeah for a lot of guys the gut and love handles are the last places to go. I am in the same boat as you. It is a lot of genetics and it sucks, but you have to stay determined. I have veiny arms and legs and a little bit of love handles still lol.

dam...forgot about genetics, my dad has the same gut too! shit am screwed.
I do worry about stress, becuase I do have a somewhat stressful job but I was told that the relationship between cortisol and fat is crap and not directly related besides that stress makes you eat more and thus making you fat.

I am about maybe 15%-17% BF now....want to get down to low 10's but I think Rabid_Goose told it for me...i dont know if motivation will be enough to take me there if I will have to look at the gut all along, any drugs that can help???

post your diet so we can see what's up...i have seen alot of bros say their diet is pretty good and then it turns out their eating subway sandwiches and yogurt

I am pretty much in the same boat myself. I am loosing weight, but I still have this gut. I guess the stomach will go once I get to a certain level.

its coming off here last for me to. But it is coming off gradually. Just stick to a clean diet it will take a while but persivere.

for diet I dont count calories, but use judgement to stay around 2800-3000. I am 6'1'' at 220 right now.

Breakfast:
two cups oatmeal, 1% cup milk and 1 cup whey all mixed in.

Snack:
Protein shake (milk, whey, banana)

Lunch:
Either dinner leftovers or chilli beans with a chicken breast, or tuna can.

Snack:
Protin shake (milk, whey, strawberry mixed in)

Dinner:
lean meat (steak, or chicken or fish), some sort of salad and maybe
cup of beans or brown rice if still hungry

Before bed
Pistachios or low sugar yogurt.

One problem thou, the days I squat I usually eat more, cant help it, after leg training I am hungry like an animal all day!

take away milk and dairy.......lower your sodium intake........do cardio only on an empty stomach in the morning, do not eat anything at all except water before doing cardio, that is the only way to burn fat effectively, because you don't want to run on what you just ate........stop eating fruits for a while and beef.....if still not losing weight try a stack of yohimbe, green tea extract, and caffeine. You could also try phospidytl serine for stress and cortisol control.

I feel your pain. I have the same problem. Face, chest, arms, back are all leaning out amazingly well, just the trunk area is still not up to my liking. Just takes time, dieting and cardio, but time is the most important, which why so many people give up.
