Lord of the Rings......

Test boy

I was very impressed by the quality of this movie. Excellent character choices. Too bad the good wizard apparently died. I expect to see him again though.

I plan to see the full movie about Shackletons Antartic expedition tomorrow. I used to be into crazy shit like that. Can't believe I still breathe.

I cried when Gandalf died.

Yes...he played an extremely charismatic role in the movie. The movie would have suffered without him.

He is a wizard though. I really expect him to have survived. Great disappointment if I don't see him again. :(

Wait, you all have not read the books?
Of course I read the books....so long ago that I remember diddly.
Hollywood rarely lets the real story get in the way of good theatre anyway.

I read them, way back in junior high school!

I think I cried more for the self-sacrifice of Gandalf than his 'death'.

But it was so very fitting to his character. Perfect in a very sad way. I liked his role more than any I can recently recall.

Love to see the cess pitt of Hollywood crank out a movie that I suspect is a good influence on our youth. :)

I was just wondering since all of you were talking about Gandalf as if he died.

I don't see Gandalf's self-sacrifice as all that impressive, he's a Maiar, he's basically a spirit and not a mortal man or even an elf.
