Looking for some feedback on Tyrosine

Just wondering who all uses tyrosine or tyrosine based supps in the morning. I'm sick of the lethargy you eventually experience from stimulant based supplements and want to take a more natural approach. I'm considering of just grabbing a kilo of pure tyrosine powder and taking 5-10 grams first thing in the morning. Also, who knows of the best places to get it cheap? I have taken it before in the form of power drive, but really the tyrosine is probably the only part of it that was actually doing anything.

What is your suggested daily dosage of the normal version and the acetylated version? Which amino acids do you take on a supplemental basis?

1-2grams of acetylated.

with plain tyrosine uptake is wildly variant with some getting little effect until the 10g range, though many will probably see at least ok response in the 3-5g range

So you say that 5g of l-tyrosine is equal to 2g of ALTYR? Debating whether to buy Power Drive or your stuff Macro!

Hold on what's the difference between n-acetyl-ltyrosine and acetyl-ltyrosine?
What is the n doing there, I see two different products on anabolicfitness.com. I'm basically looking for a pre-workout product...

^^That is the one abstract that made me review my altyr supplementation in favor for ltyr, however there is one notable discrepancy inherent in the abstract (without seeing the full study): for one ltyr has to wide an array of properties to assess its bioavailability without specifying what is implied under 'bioavailability'. Having higher brain concentrations of ltyr means nothing, as most other compounds circulating in the body, it is still constrained by rate limiting factor - it's not how much of it is floating around but how much of it is ended up actually utilized in a manner consistent with desired effects/metabolically efficient effects.
That said, so far, ltyr is only a cheaper and more accessible alternative. And if you want to cover your bases supplement with DLPA concurrently with tyrosine (whichever one you prefer) :o

acetylated aminos have greater oral bioavailability in humans. This study compared injected pro-drugs v. tyrosine (which has very high bioavailability when injected- just low solubility).

what the study found and rightly is that methylated tyrosine has higher interperitoneal bioavailability than acetylated- this likely is also true in humans.

this comparison of oral uptake is not clear from the study, but it seems to indicate that NAT was less effective than injected tyrosine and the other pro-drugs.

that being said NAT has considerably higher oral bioavailability than oral tyrosine, not to mention that it is an acetyl donor.
