Looking for a Tech Job?

Meet your new boss ...

But even if your $50,000 a year American salary gets slashed to $35,000 as you are outsourced to India, you would ACTUALLY live wealthier, and save more money, than you would in the US. For a few US dollars a day, you could have servants, a maid and numerous, high quality prostitutes at your beck and call (and SOME of them might not yet have gengivitis!) lol

.......And last time I checked, the average apartment in Bangaloor, India rents for a helluva lot less than one in the NYC area.

I would try to make the company pay for my round-trip airfare to and from India, however.

perhaps this quote symbolises why these positions are no longer available in the usa..

1)This quote symbolises European attitude.

2)Actually, it has to do with money, money, and also money. Outsourcing is just how business is done these days. Cheap labor willing to work long hours, and with the requisite skills. That's how competitive advantage is achieved and maintained. It has little to do with the intelligence, literacy, or work ethic of people in the US.

jackangel is right. I work for a big X tech consuling firm, and our major business is outsourcing, espeically to India. Cheap labor. Welcome to capitalism.

Although I understand it, I don't much like it. I'm currently "looking" for a job. But, my resume has nothing on it but a college degree and an internship. I graduated over 2 years ago. The exportation of all these jobs doesn't make it any easier, although there should be some positions for entry-level people. I don't know of any exploitable networking contacts right now, so I'm hoping someone will see my resume on the net and give a call...

We had a huge new American Express building open up here in PHX recently...90% is staffed my Arabs.

I am going to splash some curry on my neck and go apply.

I stopped in Bangalore for a night, passing through on my way to see God in the desert. It seemed a pleasant enough place. I think it's the high-tech center of India, and I don't know of any terrorist attacks having been perpetrated there.

You mean, toothless is a BAD thing?

It's nothing new.

The guys who made TVs, textiles, toys, cartoon animation, and many auto-workers --- have seen their jobs replaced by cheaper foreign labour DECADES ago. And no one said didly. It's just another industry now that has become a victim of foreign competition. It's how life works when your job becomes easy for others to do.

It's true but then what is really left...a nation of Lawyers? Hell I'd nuke us then. LOL!!!

Don't you all see the hidden benefit from this? INDIANS will soon not be flocking to the USA in the numbers that they have been, for they can make a good deal of money right there in India, without having to pay out shitloads more cash for rent, utilities, etc.....plus, they will have the greater benefit of remaining in their country of origin, right next to their family and friends in a society and culture that they are accustomed to. No more coming to the USA to learn a new language, or be discriminated against, nor to have to leave behind family and friends........

So what's the benefit for Americans? Well, LESS INDIANS IMMIGRATING TO THE US! I would rather have the US lose a few hundred thousand jobs to India through outsourcing, rather than keep those jobs in the US-----but at the cost of American culture and society being overrun by the great influx of Indian immigrants.....BOTTOM LINE: INDIANS TAKE THE MONEY AND STAY THE FUCK OUT! LOL J/K..........I think.

if you're a broly, you better find another way to get your protein. Sure won't be from beef. No steaks, hamburgers, sphaghetti/meatballs meat sauce... But then again, you can get some india sus for $1 or $2 over there.....

Damn, forgot about that!

I heard a quote somewhere from someone saying that unless the U.S starts pumping out more Engineers and less Lawyers, the country's fucked.

Hulkster. THe official language of India is English you know.

Then why is it that the millions of adult Indians who immigrate to the US can barely speak English, even after decades of living here?

It's called an accent my friend. You develop an ear for it when you work with lots of Indians.

But get two of them talking to each other, and forget it.

Very good point Hulkster! I say send them back to where they came from!

An accent? IS that what you call that shit? That's along the lines of all those ghetto-fools who thought they spoke English, until they realized they were so far from it that they had to call it "Ebonics" instead.
