Looking for a gym when away from home?

I have a site which offers users a chance to find a suitable gym when travelling away from home Gym Visit and would love to hear of any other gyms that I should have on this listing either in this thread or by entering details on the site submit a gym

cheers, john

this is actually a good idea, i've been toying with something like this since i travel and always work out on the road

i have a few gyms i'll add to your list within a few days

it's going to take a lot of work and input from users like me to make your site a success...for now it's easier to look up gyms at yahoo yellow pages

good luck!

I like this idea John. I travel a lot on business but you can guess that from the username. In the US, I just google my hotel and use the maps/ find business function to find gyms nearby. This always works in the US but not international. Mostly I end up with chain gyms.

Good luck.

Thanks roadwarrior...if you know of any good gyms it'd be great to get the details so I can add them to the site. I'm really interested in getting hold of independent gyms because they're often harder to find (because they don't have huge marketing budgets) and often more suited to people on a one off visit looking to lift big weights...oh OK they just seem more deserving! Cheers, j

I know a few good ones in NY/NJ, LA, and San Jose CA areas. I will dig up info and send what I can find to you.

Thanks again. I've dropped you a PM with my email if that's easier for you. J

Here's the challenge i think I've got just about every independent gym or small chain in these areas...but of you know any gyms I'm missing please let me know.

Cheers, John
