The Japan culture is way different then the US. He's a famous sumo wrestler in Japan. They have a lot of respect for Sumo's over there. In any japan fighting promontion they have so called freak show matches. The people demand it and lots will watch. Well known for years that the promoters will put on such fights. It sells.

yea but real fair right? making a grossly overweight sumo fighter .. fight a professional k-1 fighter with k-1 rules lol..dude cant even lift his legs to kick.. if it was an mma type of fight rules it would have been more interesting, each could use their assets in the ring

Oh goodness. LOL!! He fought gracie in mma rules. It's not about being fair. It's just they wanna see it. He didn't have to take the fight but over there unlike here they respect him. Anyone that steps in that ring automatically gets respect. WIn or lose in there eyes there warriors. Like it or hate it.It's been done with pro wrestlers, over the hill boxers, sumo's of course, they even had a former strongman and other type of fights in Japan.
