i would've started a poll....but i am too lazy....so, what has been your longest layoff and why?

5 months for me.....and i have no idea why....i think i was depressed.

1 1/2 weeks.....im sure i'll go through a bout of lazyness soon

13 long hard years. Alas I was ready to start right after I got discharged from my mothers uterus, but the doctor told me that it had a chance of compromising my final height, so I anxiously waited and spent the time working on my future posing routines and training splits. Here is me, at a couple months old, busting out my first single bicep shot:

To be honest, at this point my quads were indeed lacking and the full muscle belly of my biceps had not filled quite right yet, but in my opinion my traps and lat spread were, for lack of a better word freaky, and probably the best in the delivery room.

6 weeks off with a couple of broken ribs, among verious other injuries.

Still did aerobics when I could stand the pain.

since i started (january of senior year in high school), the longest i've been out has probably been 3 weeks. it's probably getting to be about time for me to take a rest week off since it's been quite a while...

LOL

Longest I've been out of the weight room was about 3-3.5 months, but during that time I was doing construction and farm work so it wasn't like I was laying around being a total bum

HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!:FRlol:

I was just about to start a thread asking nearly the same question. I started working out at 14 years of age. I'm 38 now. I bet I haven't layed off a total of over 1 month all together.
Especially since I hit 30. I layed off 1 month at doctor's orders, besides that, at least 3 times a week the entire decade. I'm afraid that if I lay off I will lose gains and be taking a step backwards and never be able to get to where I would have, had I not layed off. Sometimes I wish I could lay off, but I'm too addicted. That's good and bad both.

10 weeks with very ocasional visits to the gym in the middle...
maybe 5 or 6.
Too much time to be without training.

whos the dude in your av? I've seen him a lot recently, like in the new Snow video (hurting) and on this random budget show on Showcase...

For years, the longest I'd been off was about 2 weeks, then I took 4-5 months off training. In some ways, I'm glad (it gave my body a chance to COMPLETELY repair itself) but it also made my cardiovascular ability go to shit. 2002 was a 'transitional' year. 2003 I plan on breaking every PB, shit, maybe I'll be dunkin a baskeball by July lol.
