ok, let's discuss this contentious issue, I am sure it has been discussed ad nauseam on here before, but let's do it again

who has had one? how did you make it work? is it worth it?

did it start out as a ldr or change to become one?


the one in question is about 250 miles away, 5-6 hours drive

once your together.

Not worth the hassle IMO...tried it before with a GF who had to move away for a few months for training. Lasted five weeks before I decided I'd had enough of the situation. I want someone to spend time with me and share every aspect of my life, not a glorified penpal.

Tried it. Went to Japan on orders for a year and left a girlfriend in PA. Didn't last long. Don't even speak to her anymore. We grew apart and are different people. Shit I think the only reason we got together was that we had some infatuation with being a "war time couple", if you will, and that a love will conquer all mentality. God I was a jackass.

It takes you 6 hours to drive 250 miles? What kind of roads are you on? It takes me about 7.5 to go almost 500. Roughly 3-4 hours when I was stationed in VA and going to Philly on weekends.
