liver values

hey guys ive been lifting pretty hard recently and taking in about 200grams of protein a day on average, well im a college student and my dumbass got mononucleosis.
Its not that bad and i dont have that harsh of symptoms but in order to confirm my mono the doc ordered some blood tests. I got a complete blood count, EBV for the mono and a compete metobolic panel. I tested positive for mono like i expected but my liver values definitly scare me. I know mono raises your liver values but i also read that excercise and increased protein intake can also contribute to increased liver values, but to what extent im not sure. My results were AST- 219 and ALT-509, both well out of normal. My question to you is can excercise as well as increased protein intake alter liver values that much, and also should i be concerned about my liver values being that high considering i have mono

I was in the same position a few years ago, minus the mono. Th excess protein will be relfected in higher AST / ALT's. Also, if you got tested after a workout then the numbers will be even higher. What I ended up changing was, well, nothing, and the next time I got tested these numbers were a little more normal. This, probably b/c I was eating like shit at the time I got re-tested. But as far as complicating mono, no, I don't think it's a direct concern. I always am on the lookout for that too after rupturing the spleen a few years ago, so if there would have been a threat in that regard I probably would remember hearing about it. For now though, I think your condition is just like everyone else's who is on the meathead diet - so nothing too serious, but careful with the lifting if you do have mon.
