Little Kids

I was driving back from dropping my older step sister off at her gym. I'm stopped at a light, windows down. These two little girls run up along the car on the sidewalk look at the USMC license plate on the front of my car, wave to me to get my attention, cut a salute, and then ran back off to play. Made my day.

lol

That would have made my day. K to u

You must not have been in Havelock.

:lmao: Far from there. About 500 miles north in a little suburb of Philadelphia. In Havelock a Lt Col.'s son tried to fight me in a roller hockey rink with the audacity to say I'm too much of a pussy to do anything to him. I then proceeded to grab his cage, and shake his head like British nanny.

It's cool when adults thank you for the service, but when little kids come up to you on their own to salute...it's strikes differently.

The old folks are great too. I especially enjoy how they know what a lot of the terms are, as opposed to the fucking yuppies who look at you funny when you say "chow". When I was at MOS school in Ft Lee my grandmother said to me "Oh yes, the Quartermaster. <add anecdote>"

I love seeing those things. I was on I-95 Saturday coming back from NJ and saw a Marines one on the back of a car with a few decals on the rear windshield. He saw my plate, slowed down, and we exchanged a nod. A silent gesture that spoke volumes in terms of understanding the bullshit we put up with.

lol - when I first read the post (being a sick individual), I read it as if you were saying a car full of college girls from USC pulled up next to you and said hi and you were pumped cause young hotties were hitting on you. lmao. I need coffee.

Cool story though - good to see the youngins showing respect where it is due.
