I don't think most bb's don't undergo liposuction in the competitive part of a career. (Implants are a different story.)
Again, a professional bb has a lot more time/energy to dedicate to losing weight. Or cutting up. (It would not be practical to perform liposuction once a year -- depending on the cycle phase. Post-bulking.) He's willing to risk a lot, too. (DNP use, for example. And the guy doesn't have to worry about its impact on a 9-5 job.) BB is his livelihood.
Nor can he afford to wear a girdle for 2 to 3 months post-surgery. Other consequences. Tanning? On-stage routine? Scar tissue?
However, the average lifter is a different candidate in terms of liposuction. No plastic surgeon will promise 6,7,8% bf. It's simply not realistic in a guy who has big arms and a bigger gut. But a noticeable reduction in waistline can be achieved.
Afterward, I would recommend that the patient not try to bulk-up too much as part of a maintenance strategy. Or do so on a carefully-monitored diet. Gram scales and all.
