Libya: So you think the rebels are going to win? (video)

Somehow I think they are going to need a bit more than just air support.

Karma bookie event? ;)

b0und (why not?)

We've already got boots on the ground.

US, France and Britain special forces will destroy everything of interest and the rebels will storm in and plant the flag.

1) It will take longer than we think.

2) The rebels may be even more Islamic-nutjobs than Gadafi

But we'll continue to shape this country for years. Nation-building takes time.

This is my biggest fear.

I read it costs 800 million per week for the US Taxpayer to maintain the no-fly zone over Libya.

As long as the crack spread remains highly profitable for US refineries, I couldn't care less who slaughters who.

:cow: (profiting from ME turmoil)

Who says that the US has a debt problem? Bah.

The US has a debt and a spending problem. Even if you wiped-out our debt tomorrow, we'd just run it back up with our locked-in entitlements.

Even if you cut the entitlements, the blood lust and out of US deployments would still bankrupt you.

Personally, I think it would be prudent to draw down on both.

something i have thought about and been seriously conflicted with, with everyone from the west cheering on these rebels....

what is the difference between these rebels, and those that have put our soldiers in the ground in afghanistan...

not much .. IMHO

I agree. Broke is broke. We've got to get out of wars, cut entitlement and get our own economy restarted.

Saw a story about this last week.
Thanks for the vid to bring it to life.
Our goal is to try and put a less crazy puppet leader in office and build up the NATO forces in that country while controlling the oil supply in the name of freedom like we have done elsewhere. Gadafi has everyone out for him and he must be sweating.
My thoughts are with the camera man while watching this video.
Those guys are crazier than the drugged up cabbie who drove me in Miami yesterday.

A lot, actually.

These rebels were part of an organic, homegrown, honest to God uprising that aimed to take down their dictator on their own. For legit comparisons, see Tunisia and Egypt.

The folks in Afghanistan are attacking us because we're foreign invaders.

Libya is really none of our business and we shouldnt be there, but suggesting there's no difference between the two shows you dont even have a basic understanding of whats going on.

Prescription: Less Fox News and more BBC or Al Jazeera.

Lol @ al jazeera. Let's throw-in one lybian state tv while we're at. It.

lol @ be blinded by propaganda.

Al Jazeera is probably the most interesting and informative major (actual) news organization out there. Hence it winning numerous awards in journalism.

There's probably not enough spin for folks like yourself, but I challenge anybody who tuned into Al Jazeera when the situations in Tunisia and Egypt were getting started to claim that it isn't heads and shoulders above what we have here in the US as far as quality is concerned.
