Since we are still at least a somewhat Capitalist country, antitrust litigation is absurd--and the ruling did just get overturned.

Since the Elian thing was an atrocity--imagine if a small Jewish boy had escaped from Nazi Germany and found his way here, would we send him back...?

And since people CHOOSE to smoke, and have know the harmful effects of cigarettes for over two DECADES now...

Hmmm...great accomplishments.

And as far as becoming governor, the woman--political beliefs aside--is almost unable to put together a coherent sentence, due to her Parkinson's disease. Seeing her elected in her current state would be bad for the state, and bad for the Democratic Party, IMO.

Same can be said for YOUR precious government. They are the biggest business in this country and run also run monopolies (post office, which is terrible and shows how govt involvement does not work)

I own a small business and still feel that microsoft is in the right and anti-trust laws should be repealed.

Breaking up Microsoft along the proposed lines would have set the tech industry back 15 or 20 years. Microsoft is where they are because they had the common sense to write software for any hardware maker. Apple failed and IBM became an also-ran because they were making software only for their own hardware. Sun Microsystems had the same problem.

Microsoft engages in some shady business practices. The steal a lot of stuff from Novell, and they smothered Netscape (which as a tech guy was fine with me because Netscape's CEO was an idiot of the highest order).

But if it were broken up, anyone who uses a computer with Windows on it (all of us, practically) would suffer.

My stance on this is not a left/right issue. It's a tech issue, and the feds should not be breaking up a company like Microsoft outright. It looks as if they will not be.

Fiasco is exactly the right word. Elian should have been with his father but it took several months. The process was anything but quick and organized.

Yet tobacco profits have risen since her action. Interesting. Also interesting is that even if she crippled them here, the tobacco industry is pretty much worldwide. On my trips to europse I have noticed almost everyone smokes - in restaurants, in the airports, etc.

Reno didn;t make a dent in this industry, nor will any attorney general.

AG's are at their best when they are not remembered for things that happened in office.

Being a Dyke actually probably attributed to Reno's successful 8 years as Attorney General. Hence, Lesbians and Gays are usually of very strong character...

This country is the most corrupt I have seen. We bribe other countries leaders to do our government's bidding,
and kill and then say it's allright, like in Yugoslavia. The media is all a part of this too.
