LEwis sucked. He was out of breath. At the end Klitchko almost went after Lewis but got stopped by lewi's bodyguard. NOw klitchko raised his arm towards crowd ande veryone started cheering.

Lewis punked out. Did you see the way he was trying to stroke his ego when Larry Merchant was interviewing him. He knew he just got his ass handed to him. He kept saying that he would have knocked him out if the fight wasn't stopped yea fucking right. Lewis didn't take him seriously just like Rahman but it's different this time. Klitschko actually has talent and I think he will beat lewis if and when there is a rematch. One of the best parts of the fight was when the crowd cheered for Vitali after the fight. They knew he should have won it

To say he didn't win would be like saying so and so would have won if so and so wasn't knocked out in the 6th round. Lewis came in totally out of shape and looked like an ass by denying that Vitali was taking the fight to him, the boos were absolutely deserved. Coming into a fight out of shape is inexcusable for a champion.

Lewis was gonna win if the fight went on..It was just a matter of time and the doctor saved teh big Ukranian for any further punishment. Indeed, Lewis wasnt in his best shape but if the fight would have continued, there is no doubt that Lewis would have been the winner.
Th fight remembered me when he was knocked out last time due to lack of training and being too overweight but this time despite his lack of form he was still punishing the big Ukrainian..
It was a fair win.....

Thier will be a rematch and lewis will come in being in way better shape and probably win again. Totally incorrect. Lewis was KO'd by Oliver McCall when he was out of shape and McCall was no A level fighter. He came back and totally frustrated McCall in the rematch making him walk out of the ring crying instead of taking a beating. Just a year ago, Lewis used Tyson for target practice and KO'd him in round 8 despite having a broken hand and not being able to throw the right. Lewis is just inconsistent. All you people bitching about the cut have to face the facts: Fights can be stopped for bad cuts. It isn't Lennox Lewis' fault that Klitschko is a tomato can, just like it isn't Klitschko's fault that a lazy Lewis wasn't in prime form. A slice on the nose isn't as impairing as a huge gash that pours blood into your eye. When Klitschko had Lewis rocked in the 2nd round, he should have finished him. When that gash opened he should have turned up the heat, knowing the fight could be stopped at any time. Two weeks ago, the fighter who was supposed to fight Lewis got hurt and Klitschko took the fight. Klitschko would have won the fight in the next 1-2 rounds.
THE FACTS:
Klitschko threw 343 punches, Lewis threw 181. Meaning Vitali threw and landed almost TWICE the punches Lewis did. Lewis got a lucky right that saved his ass ultimately, due to the blood.
A non-medicated Tyson would clean the ring with Lewis, especially if he fought like he did tonight.
Roy Jones stands no chance against Lewis, IMO. Too small and not powerful enough. Lewis would probably come into the fight as light as possible to offset Roy's speed. At best, Roy could run, throw a lot of punches, and hope for the decision.

This whole thread just reinforces that boxing has been in sorry shape for years and years. In the '60s and '70s we had many great contenders and many world class bouts. In the '80s and '90s... boxing has not had a large enough pool of champions to even be considered an interesting sport on the Heavy weight level.

Bodypunching for a guy the height of Lewis is difficult as he has to literally stoop to hit the target which would expose him to uppercuts. He has great skills, as an amatuer he defeated Riddick Bowe to win an Olympic gold medal, by KO I believe. When he unloads he has power in both hands. Don't think because Lewis tends to be a conservative counterpuncher he doesn't have knockout power.

I saw a Lewis who was out of shape. He was stumbling around, leaning on Klitscko every chance he got, not landing his punches (except for a few good eye shots lol).
I belive he was outmatched. And I think, if the fight would of went on, Lewis would be been knocked out.

It was a 100% legit stoppage... that cut was huge. I was surprised they let it go as long as they did. Once that 2nd cut opened up below his eye it was time to end it.
Klit was great though.. many people thought it would be a 2 rounder.

I really think Tyson demonizes himself to the press, not the other way around. Stunts like starting fights at press conferences and telling female sports reporters that he only talks to women if they are going to fuck him aren't the fabrication of the media. He has come out on top of bad press too. Anyone remember Robin Givens? Instead of her allegation of marital abuse being the headline, the media portrayed Givens as a gold digging wench and sank her career. After every personal fiasco, Tyson's marketability increases.

Did Klitscko fight better than Lewis? Yes. Are cuts part of boxing? Yes. Would Lewis have won if the fight was allowed to continue? Yes. Who does the fight belong to? Lewis. It's part of boxing just like rules are part of any other game. They may seem unfair but they are RULES that must be lived by in the sport.

Hard to say who would have won minus the cut,but Lewis was clearly WAY out of shape,he was sucking wind after the second round,and Vitaly was out hustling him.Knowing Lewis' background,he will not make the same mistake in the rematch,he will come in good shape.In good shape,he will be difficult for anyone to beat right now.The talent pool in the heavyweight division is ankle deep.
