If you were starting up a new business and had created a website. Then the guy who you had working on the website for you copied the template which you payed for to build his own site without your permission, what would you do ?

For those who dont know me. If hed of done this shit 5 years ago while on 4 grams of gear a week and other drugs. Yeeeeeeaaaa.

He is definitely in the wrong.... and although legally if he were to make money off of the website that he made with your template you could take him to small claims court... but really, that might be silly :D

What I would do PERSONALLY is wait until his site is finished then hire someone to hack into it and change specific information that would hinder his business... ie: phone numbers...etc.... Revenge is more fun then getting bent out of shape...

I need a template for my business, can I have yours???? ;)

What u gonna do? You can't afford to do anythign anyways and since those templates are public domain, legally you would hit a roadblock.

All you can do is sue for 'work for hire' that the person signs beforehand that ensures everythign they do, belongs to them. Kinda like how IT companeis do with contractors. Then again if the template is public domain, he can do whatever he pleases. It all comes down to 'what do you own?'. I don' think you own joomla :)

Regarldess bad business on his part, sincve u won't work with him now.

templates are everywhere. he shouldn't have used the one you bought, but to be honest, since he changed it, there's no way you can prove it, or sue him. he didn't take your site- just the template, and he could have gotten that template anywhere. even joomla.

well I would know his address, and fuck him up.

Then if he were selling anything I would screw him up the rear and bash his products to the point that he would not make any profits at all..

Then I would hire someone else to make my site even better, so his would look like shit.

All taken care of now. His dad yoked his fuckin ass up in there tonight. He made him set up a temp site till he could fix the original. His dad knew I was about to walk.
