Lentil Soup?

BTW lentils are great foods:

high in vegetal proteins (though not complete protein)
+ low GI carbs
 
woohoo:) i was hoping it was low on GI :)

is it better to make your own lentil soup or buy the canned soups like PROGRESSO or somethin? i cant cook so good:/

crap the progresso one has 22carbs for 1cup:/ i was hoping it was low cause i wanted to eat a potatoe and steak alongside with it

almost all canned soup are full of salt, preservatives and many other craps
and it is easy to cook your own soup
just water and dry lentils .... cook it for XXX minutes (see the label)
 
Go to the organic section. You can usually find a lot of canned soups that have a variety of serving sizes. I cook a lot of organic canned chili, with 28 grams of protein per can (14g soy), and 320 calories per can.

on average..does anyone know how many carbs would be in a cup of homemade mixed veg soup?
