I was catholic in school but never did lent
my school made chili once on a friday and nobody would eat it
so i got a few bowls of it for 50 cents
that is a high light of my high school life

Fish is allowed for lent...don't ask me why. But it's the reason McDonalds invented the filet-o-fish; so sales wouldn't suck on fridays during lent.
Last time St. Patty's day fell on a friday, the Pope gave catholics special permission to have corned beef and cabbage that day.
