Do y'all all train legs? I mean, it's tough enough for me to squeeze in 4 upper body workouts every weeek... is doing legs really worth that extra day every week? I mean, how many people actually see your legs anyway? I'm about to start a low dose, long length Primo cycle and I'm ambivalent about whether I should do legs or not.
 
Training legs is etremely important. You gotta squat dude! Squats cause overall muscle growth and they, along with deads are the most anabolic exercises you can do. Why is it taking you four days a week to train upper body? What does your split look like.
BTW when I see dudes with big upper bodies and chicken legs the first thing that comes to my mind is laziness.

Your kidding right? Chicks don't dig guys with big upper bodies and little scrawny legs......Quads are one of your biggest muscles....I could go on but I'll just stop here.....you need to train legs, it's not an option

There is a guy in my gym who has a hulking upperbody and legs about as big as my arms. HE IS MY MOTIVATION ON LEGS DAY!

bro let me tell you something, look at tom platz then ask if working legs is important, you know I see guys in the gym everyday and they may have big arms but they got no back or no chest, or they may have a big chest and no arms, or a big upper body and no legs, bro building a body is about having a total package, and your no size ass asking a question like "does legs matter is ridiculous" bro and the reverse is true, having big legs and no upper body is stupid looking too, bro its about an even rounded body...............look at ronnie coleman, big all over!!!
 
Bro, don't be a pussy. This must be one of the most retarded things I've read about bodybuilding. I can't even believe people like you exist. That is until I see guys just like you at the gym, and making posts like this. This one guy at the gym has a great upper body. He is short, but has an upper body that could outclass Shawn Ray (same height, body type). BUT he has 15inch thighs! NO legs. He just doesn't train them. EVERYBODY at the gym laughs at him. EXCEPT for his two buddys who are the SAME way. The other bros AND girls think he looks silly.

Thats just one reason to train legs (to not get laughed at). There are other reasons too! Legs are more than half your body. If they grow, then you grow elsewhere too. Deads and squats done properly with good form will yeild ALL OVER growth AND thickness to the ENTIRE body. That can mean the difference between a thick back and strong shoulders, etc OR thing foo foo looking muscles.

If you feel you don't have time, then MAKE time. Throw your damn arm workout out the window, before you get rid of legs. At least they get hit with back, chest and shoulder workouts. But don't just give up on legs.

But hey, don't listen to me, or the other bro's. Just get used to the laughs, wearing jeans to the beach in the summer, looking like you might topple over, lacking the total body thickness that comes from traditional leg exercises like squats, etc, etc, etc... Because this is the road that you are headed to... C3

ps. It sounds like you don't have the right mindset or heart for this iron game. You seem to be very confused. You are ready to juice, but not yet ready to take training seriously. Hhhmmm... sad, I hope you get out to the gym, get under the bar and prove me wrong :D
 
Yes. You cannot stop doing legs. Besides being the entire base for your body, squats are probably the more important exercise in the gym. If you play any sport legs are vital to performance but even if you're just goin for that big upper body, squats, deadlifts and cleans have shown to raise test levels and gh response and make your entire body stronger overall.

Dude, its your body so build it the way you want it to look.

However, I think a well proportioned physique is the best looking one. But if you are OK with having skinny legs then more power to you.
 
Its better to train legs, although i can only train mine lightly at the moment till i get my hernia operation.
 
DAY 1: Chest And Tris
DAY 2: LEGS ******* ABBS
DAY 3: OFF
DAY 4: Soulders / Traps
DAY 5: OFF
DAY 6: BACK/ BI's -Forarms
DAY 7: OFF


This is sort of what I do 4 DAYS problem solved.......

I do add a 5th day somtimes mostly on weeks where I do deads and come back the next day and finnesh up BI's and F arms.....


This type of thread seperates the men from the boys. Some of us are on here to Grow and body build as a hobby. Which, to me, means more then just looking good for the girls. It means taking pride in yourself and pushing yourself and growing regardless of how others precieve how you look.

Guys like you on the other hand take gear on Spring break with the only goal in mind is to impress others, which i feel is truley sad
as they say " curls for the girls"


but to each his own I guess if you like bar muscles then have bar muscles I just wish I could understand this ................

O.k., o.k., I get the message! Geez... actually, y'all should know that until just a few months ago, I trained legs religiously (I could squat 315 for reps strict)... the big reason I stopped is b/c my legs and especially GLUTES grow so fast! My friggin ass was getting too big! A friend of mine told me that I have a "booty like a black girl." So I stopped for a few months to see what would happen. Turns out that my quads and hams shrank BUT my goddamn ass stayed just as muscular as ever! Oh the ironies of life... my friggin bis won't grow for shit but my ass stays big and ripped year round! But I think y'all are right saying that working legs help to contribute to OVERALL muscle growth b/c I've definitely noticed that my gains have slowed bigtime since I cut out legs from my routine.

I kinda wrote this thread anticipating that I'd get flamed for it and thinking that maybe that would be the impetus I needed to start squating again. Looks like it worked lol... seriously though, I couldn't agree with y'all more NOW GIMMIE THE PUKE BUCKET AND CLEAR THE WAY TO THE SQUAT RACK!!!!!!!!!! Thanks bros!
 
are you involved in any sports that might require sport specific legs? like i know for me that when it's basketball season i get enough exercise in my legs with five practices a week plus games! it's impossible to do legs because i'm so tired, and because i can't afford to have stiffer, more sore legs than they already are through out the week. i think i am far from lazy too (for all those saying that if you don't squat you're lazy). when i'm not playing ball at school i do train legs all out! this has set me in terms of my leg developement, but i bet all my money that no one could out jump me on this board!


in the end it's up to you, if you are not going to be a bodybuilder and people are never going to see you legs than i guess you don't have to, but, if you want the complete package, along with quality overall strength then get doing your squats!!!
 
Of course you should train your legs for all the reasons given here. Like my football coach said to the players who did'nt like or want to train legs " Do you want to be wearing blue jeans to the beach, chicken legs".
