Legal question: empty vials

Although it's never good to be caught with even an empty vial, how much juice generally has to be left in a vial before it's considered a controlled substance? IOW, an amount they feel is worthy of sending to a crime lab and prosecuting.

I believe it is treated like any drug. If you have a small dosage, then you are charged with using. If you have big dosages, you might be charged with distribution and dealing.

What I'm getting at I guess is if you use a vial and all that's left is a tiny amount sloshing around and not worth drawing out, how likely is that to be treated as if the bottle was full? My understanding is that crime labs generally need more than trace amounts when dealing with steroids before they will classify them as controlled substances.

all they need is the vial, probable cause, they can charge you with possession of a controlled substance. but what's worse is if you work in public service; police,fireman, even amtrak, bus driver,ect.. it gives them a reason to test you. union reps are folding because of all negative publicity on steroids in pro (all) sports.

Even a trace amount is usually enough to bring charges, if they want.
Just one seed of weed is enough to charge you with possesion here in Nevada. Up until a few years ago, that was a felony.

I always cut the metal band off, remove the stopper, and suck every last drop of gear out. Haste makes waste - lol.

Its kind of like if they catch you with a crack pipe that has a little in it.

it would be up to the police officer to decide if he wanted to pursue it. if you have a police record or known aggessive behavior, (fights,domestic abuse) you can bet he'll pursue it, if your just a musclehead who made a mistake with a vial, most cops will just let you know it's illegal and let you go.

Have a problem with an ex that may have some of my empty vials and I have a record.

If she has them then she is in possession not you. That's like saying she has your old crack pipe. She would get busted not you! Just call the cops on her and say you think she is dealing steroids!!! Hit first! LOL

I started to say drugs but I forget sometimes it ended up being pled down to child endangerment charges for having drugs in the house along with kids but the drug charges were dropped. Ended in probation.
