Leg Workout - new PR on Zercher Squats!!!

First off, my chest workout was ok this week... I did a variation of the 5x5... it was more a 4x5 on flat... and then incline, I got 225x4 ... which is good... to get 225 at all with my injury. But other than that... nothing standout.

Legs --

Front Squats -- warmup bar, 135x10

185x8, 225x5, 225x5, 265x2

Zercher Squats -- warmup bar, 135x10

185x10, 205x7(pr), 225x4 New PR!! I was excited about this... about how well it went up... and how LOOOW I got (low on the fronts too)... I think my form is really coming together on my squats.

Stiffy-Deads

185x10, 225x10, 275x5

No leg curls... I was spent...

Standing calf raises Stack+45 for 3 sets of 30 reps -- I upped my reps this week... I tried to go for those 80 rep sets someone was talking about... but with my squeeze at the top and ROM... it was difficult... I could have maybe squeezed out 31-35 on the first set... but getting to 30 on the last two was a feat.

Abs -- kneeling rope pulldowns x3, side cable x3

Funny thing is... my disks have been hurting me less and less the more I have been doing deadlifts and bar rows... I think I have substantially strengthened my back... if that is possible.

C, it is possible. When I first jacked my discs deadlifts saved my back. Like you said, my back got strong as hell and my pain subsided for a long time. Of course eventually I needed surgery, but for not so bad discs, its all about deads.:)

Yeah, my disks are compressed... I take it real easy... the main thing that aggrevates them is wrestling... LOTS of hard bumps and landings that really wear and tear it down. :(

I'd like to think I'm training more for bodybuilding, but I also want to gain more strength... I think, with what I'm doing... I am accomplishing both.

It wasn't too long ago you were not squatting, benching, or deadlifting...

I am proud.

Yeah... I learnd proper front squat form, deadlift form, and the benching form... it has helped my workouts 10 fold... especially after I injured my knee and leg press hurt to do anymore...

CCJ -- yeah, I use a sweatshirt to put on the bar... and I still get red marks and rub marks from the bar :) I think I saw a girl cringe a bit after I got done doing 205 because one of my arms wasn't totally "covered" by the sweatshirt and looked like it was going to bleed :)
