Leg press hurting lower back?

bring your feet down a bit on the platform and maybe widen up.

not sure how you set up, but if you are too high on the platform, flexibility or no, you are going to roll up.

how tall are you?

6'5" 275 fat pounds :D

I did legs yesterday, did squats first to see how it would affect my back, and unfortunately, it really hurt my mid back so Im not going to do squats for another month so I can let my back heal more. Did leg press and had no back pain from it. Wish it woulda been the other way around so I could continue squatting. I wonder if losing weight would help my back? Ive been told that having a belly puts a lot of strain on your back when you bend over, and with my job on some days Im bent over basically all day sanding hardwood floors.

Jesus Lee, you are massive...

You may want to put some additional padding behind your back - may be what the "how tall are you" question is leading too. I train w/ a guy thats 5'6" (he thinks he is 5'8" but that is a different story). He uses a pad from another machine - it only covers the lower back region - it helps him and he stacks the machine to it's max (28 plates) and reps it for 15+ reps and uses a full ROM (Dorian would cry). I have even seen him use an entire back piece from an old bench to get himself closer. They are certainly not the most versitle piece of machinery in the gym.

Are you talkin' shit allllllllll??? 5 ft. 7 inch. and proud to be tall! lol...

I'm sure the bent over stuff is significant w/ your lower back pain. Shit, I get lower back pain from running the vacuum cleaner.

I was workign w/ a chiropractor 2 yrs ago for a rotated pelvis (different issue) but when I told him about the type of lifting I do, he said that heavy leg press over the yrs has probably contributed to the degeneration of one of my disks.
