Left hand going numb

For a few weeks now my left hand has been going numb every day. I can't think of any specific way that I injured myself, but I think it may have happened after heavy deads. It seems to be getting worse recently, mostly my pinky, ring, and middle finger and that whole side of the hand being numb and feeling pins and needles when I touch it. It's at its worst when I wake up in the morning.

Anyone know what the hell is going on?

you ought to see a physiatrist or neurologist right away. sounds like a nerve injury, which is treatable.

i used to have it. i think it's somehow related to your heart. i sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because both of my arms go numb. what i do is i lift both arms up, and hold them in the vertical position for about a minute, it goes away very quickly this way. it must be the blood not exiting your arms, and staying inthere

You can get something similar to carpal tunnel that involves the ulner nerve in your elbow, which affects the outside fingers of the hand. I imagine you could get the same results by pinching the nerve rather than a repetitive motion injury.

Anyway, listen to everyone else and go see a doctor. Let us know what he says!

This makes sense....when my elbows are resting on a hard surface, my hands pointed to the sky, my fingers start to go numb.

Yeah last year after I gained 50lbs or so in 3-4 months I had problems with both my arms going numb during sleep if I had them in any position other than by my sides. I lost some fat and that problem went away, but this is different. It comes and goes during the day, so it's not just a sleep issue.

I'm gonna see a doc about it this week; it's really becoming a pain in the ass.

Ive been getting this aswell Deep, I sometimes wake up in the morning like this. Its only been hapening since I started my cycle and its never happened during the day.

thats not carpal tunnel...that would be your thumb, index and middle fingers. what you have follows the ulnar n. distribution. I don;t think it could be from deadlifting though...anything in particular make it worse?
