laptop only gets on internet in safe mode....

hey whats going on here? any suggestions?

i run norton professional internet securities 2005 or whatever, system mechanic, and adaware SE or something.

when booted normally it will view 2 or three web pages, then all of the sudden, everything i click on or tell it to go to will display " (untitled)


at that point it will no longer navigate through any web pages at all. if i check the packets recieved/sent... there are maybe 100 recieved per 1000 sent.


i run windows xp tablet edition 2005 sp2

had a similar drama on a high end dell laptop running xp pro because of the anti virus

try booting normally, then use task manager to shut down programs one by one until you find out which one is causing your drama

or...wait for dial tone to get on and tell you what the story is

thanks. im now on the net in safe mode, still no resolution. im going to try what youre talking about.


should i just uninstall and re install norton?

Uninstall norton, give it to someone you don't like, get panda and zone alarm.

Is your system running slow and erratic? Getting slower by the day ?

i dont think so. but maybe... where are you headed??? (finals week is in 2 weeks, and ive got an entire class riding on a project i need MY computer for)
