not ignoring, my computer's just slow, and it was making me mad...I love Will Oldham, but I used to be in love with this guy who loved Will Oldham more then anything, so I can't really listen to him anymore. I hate that song about birds, but I love that line "She liked to go down on me. And I liked to go down on her too"...it looks stupid written out, but it's really cool when he sings it.

:lmao: no dballer, I don't hate you...I had to go work on friend's final with her...Will Oldham is great!

are you still around anywhere? or did you turn in...I need some new music to listen to. I've been listening to jeff buckley for a few days, and as you well know, he doesn't have an enormous body of work. Any suggestions for I'm-done-with-school-for-the-time-being music?

Rock.

Btw, we've talked so much about albums that matter NOW...but what about albums that influenced you in the past that you only very occasionally listen to...here are my top 5...

1. Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes
2. Depeche Mode: Violator
3. Michael Jackson: Thriller (this one is a gimme, but how could I not mention it?)
4. Pearl Jam: 10 (say what you want, but this album rocked the 13-yr-old me)
5. Tori Amos: Boys for Pele (ok, ok, but I've gotta give props. I was 15!!!!)

albums that influenced you in the past that you only very occasionally listen to...here are my top 5...

1. Dinosaur Jr. BUG
2. Steely Dan Katy Lied
3. CCR Willie and the Poorboys
4. Neil Young After The Goldrush
5. Black Flag Who's got the 10-1/2?

Black flag, eh? ok, ok...I went through my little punk state too. ;)

I never got into dinosaur jr, though I did all of the aforementioned lou barlow projects with great enthusiasm. I'd have to say, the one band that changed my taste before age 18 was definitely Hum...emo grandaddies, whatever, whatever, but their "radio album" still rocks me...you'd prefer an astronaut fo life!

and sebadoh's harmacy...radio radio radio...I'm a radio whore, apparently...

so what kind of lit are you into? contempo? ever read xconnect, or any of the reviews (georgia, north american, etc.)?

Harmacy.... I am melting!!!!!

I like reading contep... I like Ernest... I like Rollins stuff... I like alot of weird stuff!!

not as versed as you though!@!!

tell him everything that you told me...that I'm still your friend...and maybe we could start again...

best breakup song EVER.

the beatles - the white album/abbey road
pulp - common people
tori amos - little earthquakes
massive attack - protection
2 live crew j/k

:lmao: but 2 live crew did start quite the stir in my junior high. little earthquakes made me start growing up. I don't know a chick who would disagree! ;)

Just thought I'd butt in for a second and say that it's nice to see someone else who knows/remembers Jeff Buckley.

YES. Jeff Buckley rocks. Ever read Dream Brother? The book about his short life? Mystery White Boy will rock me until I die!

No, I haven't read it. Are you recommending it?
Grace will forever live in my heart tho. Damn...I'm yearning for it now if I can find it in this mess of a room!!!

I have two copies of grace floating around here...you can borrow one. :D

Yes, I highly recommend the book...it's got some amazing stories, about tim buckley, too. Go for it!

lol, thanks!! I'm still looking....I have the cassette tape believe it or not, but I don't have the cassette player.

Hi DB if you are still around, you are up awfully late? :)

Yup. i found all his dirty porn. it was scary. Nahh, dballer is a down to earth guy. Made me feel completely welcome. Anytime you wanna come to Gainesville man, look me up. You will have food and shelter. Although i couldnt see you wanting to come here, it isnt your type of town. Trust me.

well.. when Johny came up to visit.. he found my stash!!!
That's not funny. One day I found a copy of "Anal Whores" in my my ex's closet, and he told me that he only got it because his picture was in it!!! Well, of course I didn't believe him, and he proceeded to flip to page 83, I'll never forget the exact page number!!! Well, imagine how I felt when I saw him presenting his bum to some large hairy homo sapien with what resembled kielbasa boobies, a few teeth missing in a large grin. The ex just looked me with these sad puppy eyes and just kind of whimpered like he misses home. That's when I knew I'd lost him for good. Damn those Anal Whores!!!

They do it every time!!!!!

what was once a perfectly respectable thread about music has gone to the gutter. Guess I'll just keep reading my copy of Big Titty Prison Bitches and pray for your souls...

Here's why I'm not happy this morning: I performing in a friend's director's project, and I'm wearing the world's most ridiculous costume. A white satin nightgown, a church-lady cardigan sweater, a long velvet trench coat, 5 multicolered scarves, character shoes, and I've got stigmata scars drawn on my wrists. And here's why I'm an idiot: I did this all at home, so now I have to walk all the way across campus. AND it's raining, no less, once again confirming that indeed god hates me.

I think I'm going to call a cab. Fuck this.

That sucks...

You need to pack that shit up and get changed over there!!! Or go back to bed.

haha! I'd love to go back to bed...but hell, when I'm finished with this, it's all day naptime, then I'm going to go lift like a rock star because finals week has kept me away from the gym a bit...my if I wait any longer, my tris will be hanging out under my elbows. :lmao:

Well, at least you will be somewhat warm??? I did something similar once....it was for a photo shoot my class was doing, and we had to make up these little catchy phrases as to why we are going to kick ass in that class, and wear costumes that express that sentiment. Well, for some reason, I decided that a bath robe and curlers would go really well with the little phrase I had come up with, I won't even say what it is because it was so stupid, and I was already running late, so there I was, fast-pace walking across campus to get to the photo shoot in curlers and a bath robe. It was actually kind of fun to freak people out......:D

So how'd the rehearsal go?

And I thought you had a car...

Oh, Project, your assumption that there is adequate parking in my humble 'burg is precious. The campus is huge, and there's nowhere to park without an expensive quarterly pass. So THERE.

How was work?

haha...yeah, definitely. And going to a huge state school makes one so much more conspicuous. :lmao: Frat boys are so easily stunned.

ah, parking...forgot about that. I have the luxury of a garage at work and a driveway at home.

work was, well, work. I argued about networks most of the day, placated my boss who just came back into town, and got handed a database project I don't really want.

mmmm...jagermeister piiiieeee...:p

Okay, I'll be the ignorant one here.

Is there really such a thing as jagermeister pie? Just wondering.

I had a bad experience with Jager, and there are pictures to prove it. That's always fun.

do you really think so??? That color of brown looks just like the color of really good brownies!!! Maybe I am just a pig. :)

you just want to eat little black kids... you are the Black Kid Eating Monster!!!!:chomp:

Police Beat

<<A young woman was arrested Thursday for trying to gnaw on the arm of a small black boy. When questioned, her reply was "I just wanted some brownies!". She is being held without bail pending a hearing and psychological analysis.>>

I don't think there is. If there was, it would be really runny...

I had a bad experience with jager too...when I was in Edinburgh, they had 50p shots at this bar, then I tried a shot of absinthe, then I went and saw Margaret Cho (I was at the festivals fringe)...I laughed really, really loud, then went back to the bar and passed out with this german chick on a table for about an hour...the jager always tastes worse coming back up:sick:

somehow, the image of you doing a shot of absinthe followed by Margaret Cho is very funny to me.

it has a taste coming back up? I didn't notice.

Well, maybe it was the absinthe. Or the Margaret Cho. I'm not too sure.
