When I was a psych student, some of my profs said this was actually true. For guys it's totally differnt, as most of us would sleep with any half-way decent looking girl.

Most women who meet me are disgusted with me at first, but after a while they become interested. I have no idea why.

I'm curious. Help me out here.

I guess there are some people that you automatically get an instant physical attraction to. That does not, however mean that it will be acted upon.

And then there are others that win a girl over with their charm and personality.

There is some truth to that. It is more like a situation of meeting someone for the first time though not just radomly seeing good looking guys from afar. If there is a spark you feel it right then, in 10 seconds or so. I can only speak for myself but I have met and been around alot of good looking guys but there are only a few that have made that lightening feeling go off. Those guys were not any better looking then the rest....just chemistry I guess.

I am a guy and will try to answer this for you because i have asked women about this in the past also, including my girlfirend.

So the aswer i got was usually no. But when i asked them to really think about it on a subconscious level and all of them said there is truth to that perception. It's something that they do not even realize on a concious level. But it does instantly give you the oppurtunity to "talk" to them. And it's there, in the talking, where it depends on how you play your cards whether you will actually get any.

This is currently "girlfriend confirmed". Yes she agrees with this theory. Incidentally it has been shown in various studies that women have an interesting sence of smell when it comes to men. They are instinctively attracted to men with opposite immune systems, apparetly they can "snif" it out. That could be a contributing factor in the 10 second rule.

that's how I operate. Kinda hard to attract a woman with a wooden leg and axe stuck in my head. So I gotta be charming and full of personality. If that doesn't work I show em my pet monkey. That always wins them over.

Maybe I should clarify myslef. Girls, when you meet a guy...do you automatically lump him into the "doable" or the "non-doable" categories? Like you meet a guy, and there's just something about him that makes you say "Even if he were the last man on the planet, I wouldn't sleep with him."

I think I do that with women, although it's more of an unconscious thing.
