lacoste shirt question

I'm trying to figure out which of my shirts are fake. I have 3 total.

One of them has buttons that have a little aligator and the word lacoste on them real small. It is also sized like a large even though it says XL.

The other two's buttons are plain.

Which are fake?

well all 3 came off ebay. the seller of the shirt w/ the gator on the buttons had feedback suggesting a fake product....but I went ahead and bought it anyway because it was really cheap.

the other 2 were advertised as official lacoste shirts and the feedback look good. they were also about twice as expensive as the first one.

from lacoste shirts I've seen, these second two look legit but I never had a chance to check out what's on the buttons, if anything.

It's impossible to tell without pics. I've seen real lacoste shirts with the letters on the buttons as well as without.

don't got a digi cam on me at the present time.......

gonna be picking up mine this weekend though when I head home-home.

I'll try to get to get some pics up then........

anyone else?

Just letters? or the letters "lacoste" with an alligator below them?

Not an alligator

A crocodile

Check it is right-facing

My aunt owns a store that sells them. She gave me one and the two times I wore it the women were _all over me_. I didn't realize they were so expensive.

And then I washed it with something red. Turned everything red, including the shirt.

I will have to ask her to let me buy another.

I still have it, though. Just checked.

Buttons are small with two holes in each going up and down. Pretty small. The interior of the shirt has a tag on the lower side with 100% cotton printed on it in about 10 languages or so.

Yeah bro, it's weird but they do seem to attact chicks...i guess it all depends on where your from....

shit around here, if you spend $70 bucks on a shirt the girls think you are a fashion god or something.....

one time I complemented some girl on a gucci purse and she acted like I was the coolest kid ever....meanwhile I was laughing my ass off......

Only the letters on the buttons. No croc below them.

Well, if that's true, then all 3 of my shirts are fake.

not sure about that though. I saw some pics from the lacoste website though and they were just plain mother of pearl buttons............these last two I purchased are looking straight so far....just gotta get 'em tailored and taken in a bit......

No - the real ones DO have just plain mother of pearl buttons.

The label has the gator with the word underneath.

The real key is the interior label with cotton in multiple languages.

What I like about them is that among all my double-knits, they seem to have the shortest sleeves and cling to my tricep/biceps, kind of showing them off a bit.

Ah-ha. So it looks like I have 2 legit and 1 fake. Oh well. Weird thing is the fake one fits better :D

Hey synpax, do yours have side slits? The 2 I think are legit do, while the other doesn't. Thanks.

none of my lacoste shirts have anything on the buttons

another easy way to tell is on the tag, is there a number?
because lacoste uses a number system for sizing instead of S,M,L etc

Good call on that one. Yeah the two real ones have a 7 on them (for XL)

and the fake one, which is sized like a large - just has a tag that says XL.

thanks.

if you reaaaaaaaally wanna know that bad, the buttons are made of pearl so light should reflect off them in many colours, and they weigh 230g each

but honestly, who cares as long as they look good eh?

Cool bro. Yep the two definately had some rainbow effect going on.

if anyone wants that ebay'ers ID, let me know....he had shitloads of auctions and I got them each for $40 and a 99.1% feedback for thousands of auctions

my polos came to like $110 canadian i believe

its the other stuff thats truely expensive. My favorite item of clothing is my lacoste jumper (wool with the 1/4 zipper by the neck)... looks amazing, but cost me $400 after tax

What is a jumper?

BTW - there is a small split on the bottom of the sides.

This further encourages me that my shirts are real. Thanks.

Too bad they are too fat for me at the moment, otherwise I woulda pimped one out tonight.....
