I do 3x/week cardio outside. I running 35 min, but now when I start run on the street each morning my knee hurt me..is something helpful?? What to do?

I do 3x/week cardio outside. I running 35 min, but now when I start run on the street each morning my knee hurt me..is something helpful?? What to do?
I personally have found that doing the eliptical and maybe the stairstepper is alot easier on the knees. I would limit the amount of outside running, since i think its harder on the knees. I think running on a treadmill is really easier than running outside.
