The legislation (S.2195) is expected to go to the floor for a vote tonight. If approved by unanimous consent, the bill would be sent to the House for their approval. The effective date would begin to run from the date the President signs the bill into law. For those of you who are especially interested in an exact date, the best I can give is an estimate. If there is no objection to the legislation by Thursday, and the bill makes it to the President's desk, it would be reasonable to say that the bill could be expected to take effect on or around January 10th - 15th. We should know by tonight whether the bill will receive unanimous consent on the floor of the Senate.

Don't they have bigger fish to fry? This is fucking moronic! We have a war going on and "big brother" feels the need to ban a perfectly safe category of nutritional supplements? I don't get it! I read an interview with Patrick Arnold of ergopharm last week and he was saying how ridiculous this whole mess is. Whats next? FDA regulation of vitamin C? This is what happens when the govt gets too much power.

The politicians are weak girly men jealous of our manly muscles so they must outlaw anything that makes them look more like weak girly men and our muscles far more superiour than theirs! (in the voice of Hans & Frans).

No, this is what happends because the DRUG COMPANIES want it to happen. That's why ephedra was banned.

I could care less about prohormones... they wind up in underage kids hands for the most party anyway. I will stick to the real thing which costs 1/100th the price per dose!

I'm glad im not the only one that realizes that the FDA is basically controlled by the pharma industry. In this case though i don't think that they really are pushing for it. They realize as well as we do that prohormones are not taking away from their bottom line. Do you really think that organon and upjohn are concerned about small companies like Pinnacle and Ergopharm? Not likely.

I'm not saying that prohormones are a big deal, we all know that they don't stack up against the real stuff, but my point is that the option to use them is being taken away. If you like them or not has no relevance.

The rich control everything, the corporations control the media, the government, the FDA! Hell, everyone knows that!

y'know what?

Ban that shit!
the real thing will always be there...
