Kfc

last night i went to kfc and ordered a bucket and went to town , I know that fried chicken is bad cause of the oil but the commerciel says that each piece has 40 grams of protein and like 10 grams of carbs. Is that really bad? im currently bulking ..

You are better off having carbs than eating that garbage. I love KFC it tastes awesome, but their new ads are just asking for a lawsuit, you know how many people on the stupid atkins diet are going to get fat eating kfc, because it has low carbs. Its still loaded with calories and saturated fat. BTW, carbs don't make people fat, excess carbs can be stored as fat. Learn the difference between good carbs and bad carbs, memorize the gi and you should do well. I eat KFC as a cheat sometimes, even when bulking I avoid it, cause I try to minimize fat gain.

I eat KFC all the time, but i pull off the skin. They even have the nutrition facts of a breast with the skin pulled off. i think it was like 30 protien 4-5 fat and no carbs. Good stuff, I love it. Good wit the baked beans too.

Its a good idea to take the skin and breading off, but the problem IMO is the oil they use. You could take a napkin and get some more of the oil off too. I don't believe it only has 4 or 5 grams of fat, even with the skin and breading removed. Whenever I go to KFC, all the people in line are 300+ lbs, and its not muscle. BTW, my favorite thing at KFC is the potato wedges, which is very bad for you. I also like the colonel chicken strips.

If you're not on a CKD KFC is a big no-no

If you're bulking up, as you say, I don't see how a one time KFC would be a problem - just fit it into your daily caloric intake and you'll be fine.

On the other hand, if dieting, I would HIGHLY suggest against it. But again, even if that was the case, you already ate it and even if I said it was the worst in the world you couldn't take what you did back - so don't worry about it. :)

i.e. commercial. If you look at the commercial and the guy asked "wow you look good, what have you been doing?" The other chap says "eating chicken." Suddenly it says in BIG letter 11g carbs and 40g protein. Next time you see the commercial, look at the small text at the bottom of the page. :(

BFA, I forgot exactly, but it says something to the extent of "This is NOT a low fat diet, blah blah blah"

If I see the commercial, I will try to read the whole thing, but they only paste it for about 3 seconds so NO one can read it :(

what everyones opinion on eating the KFC meal after taking a large dose of ALA?

Well, being the fact that KFC is mainly fat/carbs in earch meal unless you get the "low carb" chicken, ALA can be used, I just don't know how useful it will be. I see it the same as dropping an ALA in a BK Whopper meal

Even a large dose of ALA would not fix the problem of an overload of hydrogenated fats and such. It's just not too healthy; although feasible in some cases, I wouldn't think it would be a regular for most people.

Like I said my my earlier post; during bulking KFC is not bad at all, you just have to watch that you don't eat it 3x a day.

lol...everytime someone posts that, I wonder why people even eat there. :D

Imagine the fat used over and over to cook your food.....

lol, I recently saw an advertisment for KFC on the tv.

They say in it... 'Excellent for carbohydrate reduced diet, only 10g carbs per piece...'

I thought that was funny, they are now trying to advertise their food as a method of fat loss...

As well as another KFC ad I saw, where two mothers get their children some special KFC package meal.. and it says something to the effect of 'gives your children everything they need' it consisted of a piece of chicken, some candy and a soda (I believe)... GREAT AMOUNTS OF SATURATED FAT and SOME SUCROSE... everything you need if you plan on being obese ;/

if the oil is hot enough the water in the meat presses out ward keeping the oil to the skin.... the white meat should be just as lean as grilled chicken

ya, but I find most people go to KFC because of their skin.. hehe.. else it's probably cheaper to just buy the chicken at the grocery store... :)
