Kevin Levrone vs. Dwain Chamers - Race Results

Sorry, but most tailbacks run a 4.4 or better. A good speed for an offensive guard is around 4.8.

Sorry, but there is no tailback who can run a 40 METER in 4.4
which is what Kevin and Marc ran.

40m= like 4? yards at least a stride or 2

1 meter = 1.0936 yard.
40 meters = 43.744 yards.

3.744 yards = 11.232 feet.

avg stride 3-5 feet.
so 2-4 strides.

as for how long a stride is in terms of time, that is all variable even more so than the length in distance of that stride.

4.4 40 = 9.09 yards / sec.

43.744 / 9.09 = 4.812

and the price of tea in china = too fuckin high

According to FLEX ONLINE, the 4.8 that is reported, was his time at the 40 YARD mark, not meter mark.

The world's number-two ranked sprinter Dwain Chambers beat IFBB superstar Kevin Levrone in a special 60-meter exhibition race on December 11 in Costa Mesa, California. Though the two were close at the 40-yard marker (Chambers was hand-timed at 4.52 seconds, Levrone at 4.8), the sprinter's remarkable world-class speed kicked in, leaving the 237-pound pro bodybuilder well behind at the finish. Chambers finished with a time of 6.64 seconds.

4.8 in the 40 yards is not that bad. i could run that but there is no way i could keep up with a sprinter in the 60-100 meter. 100 meters = 109.36 yards. Why? Because at the 40 m I would have hit my top speed. Those guys turn it on at the 40-60 meter mark and keep on accelerating. Look at Michael Johnson's time for the 200m which is 19.66 seconds. (correct me if i'm wrong) If you split that into 100 meters then it comes out to that he is running 100 meter in 9.83 seconds. You tell me if you can run 109.36 yards in 9.83 seconds and keep that time for another 109.36 yards. I remember when M.J. ran the 200 meter in 19.66 and the commentators were saying how is running relaxed all the way up to the 120 meter mark or so and as soon as he came around the turn. He freaking took off like a cheetah. Same with the guys who run the 100 meters. They blast off at the 40-60 meter mark. So to Kevine Levrone. I hope you enjoyed getting smoked.
