this is my tale of success.....
Started January 3rd, 2002 @ 203.5 lbs. I am 5 ft 9 1/2 so that is on the borderline of starting to get decently fat. My lifted experience is brief....a year here, a year there in the early 90's....havent touched a weight or done excercise since 1997.
Beginning at the new year...I decided to kick the fat and lose some weight...I am getting married on June 2nd,2002 so I wanted to look good ! Plus I was tired of seeing a big stomach in the shower....really freaked me out because I am a genetic mesomorph, with good genes....after eating pizza, cookies, candy, cake, fast food, and all the good tasting crap for 5 years....It finally caught up...BTW , I am 30 yrs old....At my heaviest (207 lbs) I was a 36 waist but inching towards the next level...The dreaded 38!
I scanned alot of diets and decided on a straight Atkins program....got the whole ketosis concept down, cut out all the carbs....and after roughly 4 1/2 months...I have proceeded to drop 32.1 lbs as of now....I weigh 171.4 ! blows my mind but I did it! I am now around 31.5 inch waist and confortable....I did ZERO cardio during this time, and had my share of refeeds when I wanted to.....deprivation is a crappy thing, but i always jumped back immediately after having some "cheat foods"
At any rate, I started lifting again about 9 weeks ago...I took the advice of alot of the people here, who are absolutely great with their knowledge, and I appreciate the help and inspiration as well....Thank you for posting to inform us.
Been lifting heavy last 9 weeks, using mostly compound movements on a 4 day split....
M- Legs
T- Chest/ Tri
W- Rest
TH - Back/bi's
F - Shoulders
Sat amd Sun = Rest
I try to sneak in abs 2x per week for 15 min after the workouts...nothing too crazy...
Now here is my questions -
1) After "cutting" and losing alot of weight with keto style diet for a whole 5 months.....is it time for me to start a bulk cycle? I am really, really lean.....look somewhat ripped....but I feel I wanna add some real muscle and think that introducing carbs will help.
2) Should I add 8 weeks of clean, low Glycemic carbs like brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat bread / pasta , and sweet potatoes...? and if so...will jump the scale in fat or will i start to gain some nice real lean mass? I dont wanna ruin my success....call me a bit paranoid but I luv junk and 5 months of cutting is a BIG sacrifice!
3) Lastly...I am going on my honeymoon on 12 day cruise....any of u that knows about cruises...its an pigout Fest....i can use the 12 days to bulk up on 5000-6000 calories and still hit the gym hard for 4-5 days per week....this cruise has top notch gym, so i am excited.!
I used the following during the past 9 weeks while working out and shredding -
ALA - this stuff is incredible....better than mostly anything I have used..if i had a cheat meal..i would take 900mg and wouldnt feel so bad....scale never jumped up either after cheat and ALA! highly recommended ! oh yes, my piss stunk to high heaven....but who cares ! hehehe - still use 1200-1500mg a day
Creatine - used for prior 8 weeks while heavy lifting....gave me excellent pumps and nice water retention / volumizing in muscles.....but also did bloat my stomach region a little....last week i stopped the 10g i took a day for past 8 weeks...and lost about 3.5 lbs this week ///// probably all water! I would say that during cutting I would leave the creatine out of your supp mix! used phosphagen hp right after workouts...with ALA..i have a good job so i dont need to look to buy dextrose and pro labs...this was easy
Flax seed oil - taste like ass....but is great for fatty acids needed to induce and remain in ketosis....worth it for cutting and will continue to use during bulkin cycle if I consider it
Hydroxycut - felt it working for first few days....then its affects wore off....took 6 a day...never felt a buzz really...who knows what it did...probably mentally made me work harder in gym
Adipokinetix - have been on this for past 4 weeks and i think it works decently...like ECA stack , u never really know....I lost weight and fat recently...so maybe i can attribute it to adipo and the yohimbine hcl, i do around 4 pills a day.
Myoplex Low Carb - expensive but worth it...the only MRP that was great tasting and I looked forward to it each and every day....taste like Carvel ice cream shake that is melted if you pre make 2 packages in blender and fridge overnite.....the next day it is Incredible! i cant stand bill phillips or EAS but Myoplex low carb rules....i had choco cream only....the only gripe with the product is its high sodium content @ 500mg per package,,,also its about 2.20 per, much more expensive than any NON-low carb MRP...i wonder why?
multi vitamin, Ester-C 1000 , Bcomplex125 - all from vitamin shoppe and their brand too......took each morning and evening,,,,,excellent for stress, anti-ox properties, keep healthy, etc,,,- a must for all lifters!
thats my long tale of success....thanx again to guys like BFOLD, crum, and cornholio for all your input as well as others......any suggestions on the route i should go now that i am lean and mean would be much appreciated!
oh and one last thing that i have yet to try but def will put to the test since its such an argued topic - LIPODERM-Y ....I wanna see if it will work on the stubborn estrogenic nipple fat that will not budge!!!!
Par, if you want the perfect candidate to do a free trial to prove to the world if this stuff really works...I would be the perfect candidate! I will take pics , the whole nine yards! its up to you
