a 4 year old girl in Knoxville was shot in the head when she found a 25caiber handgun on a computer desk. She is doing ok she is in UT hospital right now recovering.
This stuff scares the crap out of me, which is why i dont own a gun

Strange, it must have been loaded and cocked. My daughter is 6 and even if my nine was loaded, there is no way she would be able to pull the slide back or pull the trigger the full draw. If it was already cocked, then she could, but otherwise, she simply isn't strong enough.

they found marijuana in the apt too.....yeah they said as she picked it up , it went off...poor little girl
also a 2 year old boy was in the room too dang
happened in the projects where my ex used to live....he even saw a man get stabbed when he was 11 and had to testify

When I was growing up I was taught how to be safe and effective with guns at a very young age. I had a .22 rifle when I was 7, killed my first deer when I was 11. Guns were as normal to me as a telephone or a vacuum cleaner. I used to think that people who didn't have guns in the house were a little odd.
I don't buy the theory that growing up around guns make you more likely to shoot someone. My friends and I got in a lot of fights growing up, we all owned guns, but we didn't go around shooting people. Kids who are never exposed to guns are more likely to fear and hate them, and more likely to misuse them.

damn, i know if i was a youngster i would have been playing with guns had i found one.

gun cabinets peeps

I agree I think I started shooting when I was 6 or so. Teach kids to respect guns not fear them and this kind of thing won't happen.
